Thank you. I was able to convice my dad with the sportbar, rust free bed, and NOS tailgate. My mom still isn’t convinced. Lol.
-
Interesting. I’ll add it to the list tomorrow.

Under the cab vents.
-
Very interesting.

I’m guessing this rear end has comparable strength to the D35 seeing as though the AMC 35 became the Dana 35. Is that correct or was the AMC 35 a decent rear axle?
-
Unless the whole axle was swapped. Sweet! Thank you, no rush.

I am thinking 84-01 would be great. Lots of us have XJs or MJs swapped with later model parts. Thanks!

Interesting, that must have been some sort of fuel economy package. I'll add it to the list.

Driveway Ornament To Daily Driver: 7 Years!
89 MJ replied to Minuit's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Any more updates on this Minuit? I really love these HO era Sportruck stripes, almost as much as my Renix Sportruck stripes. -
Hmmm, I want to say @Strokermjcomanche has some parts, but I don't remember 100% for sure, and I am not sure if they are for sale or if he wants to loan them at all.

Is it time for more lift or is the compressor going to get relocated? I suppose you could always get longer bump stops to limit your up travel too.

Because we all know that there were a lot of gears that you could get in an XJ/MJ during their production, I think it would be a good idea to come up with a list of gears that you could get and the years that you have found them in for future reference. Please include other years and gear ratios that you have found over the years. 4.56 198?-1992? 4 cyl auto MJs (maybe XJs too?) 4.10 198?-1996? Typically found in 4 cyl, 5 speed MJs and XJs, and some 86s (no idea on 97+) 3.73 1984 (found in an all original 84 XJ) 3.55 1984?-2001 4 cyl 4 speed MJs and XJs, 4.0 auto MJs and XJs 3.07 1987?-2001 (4.0 5 speed XJs and MJs) (89eliminator's 88 4.0 auto, fuel mileage package?)

Why do you not have the hood painted like the rest of the body, out of curiosity? Is it because of the weight of the bedliner paint?

Front Axle Repair - Rusty rusty U joints
89 MJ replied to McDougal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
To elaborate more on what Pete is saying about odd gearing, I once pulled some parts off of an 84 XJ. The XJ was beautiful with 48K miles on it (they wouldn't let me buy it whole). I really should have bought more parts off of it, but I wasn't as XJ/MJ smart then. Anyways, it was a 4 cyl, 5 speed, 4x4, with 3.73 gears. -
Wowza, these trucks were more expensive than I thought when they were new.
-
Good luck! It would be great if all of these pieces could get reproduced someday.

@Jeepthng, @JeepcoMJ, here is our thread for planning our WI, MN, IA get together.
-
$1,200 in MN with some extra parts. 4x4, D30, D35, 4.0, 5 speed, not running, rusty floors (only rust on it), needs doors, header panel, and front fenders (damaged).

Looks great! Considering you have a job and did a lot of this project by yourself, you have made a lot of progress on this.
-
I am a little jealous of those of you who have some snow or warm weather. We have neither right now.
-
Looking good!
-
Nope, it got knocked out when we vacuumed in there.
-
Both of the trucks are in the shop. The blue one is getting finished and the Ugly Truckling is getting started.
