The parts manuals actually decode each digit of the VIN better than the digital parts catalogue program. I don't have an 89 catalogue but JMO has them and get tell which VIN means what.

Comanche Rear Fender Liners

No. They just help prevent corrosion on the metal mounting brackets. -

Carb? Which engine? 2.5L 4cyl or 4.0L 6cyl? 2.5L has Throttle Body Injection or TBI and the 4.0L has multipoint fuel injection. So what you would have to remove is just throttle bodies.

Rear bumper bracket was replaced on the Sunday. Never got those broken bolts out sadly. But nothing beats spending the last day of the year like hanging out and workin on Jeeps.

Simple cruise control wiring question
eaglescout526 replied to Big Dan's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I found that a test light works well for the switches rather than using a volt meter. -
Simple cruise control wiring question
eaglescout526 replied to Big Dan's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
See I was genuinely looking for a older GM tester or something like such including the Kent Moore tools but was worried that the tester wouldn’t plug into that AMC control board plug. And I didn’t want to dump money into something that would be used sparingly. -
Simple cruise control wiring question

Yup. Guy wants that much for a very obsolete and almost non existent cruise set up tester. Supposedly a lot of the other car companies of the 80’s used the DANA cruise control system but all I found was AMC and Ford used them. -

Manual to Power Steering Questions
eaglescout526 replied to CODriver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hoses, pump, reservoir, sensor and power steering gear box. Most everything except the 2.5L reservoir can be had easily. Also there's no need to find a bracket either. The empty pulley is an adjuster for tension on the belt so all you'll need to do is swap in a pump(the pulley/bracket is bolted to the intake manifold on the drivers side). -
Wow, that's a vinyl floor, at least you don't have to worry about cleaning carpet. Check the master cylinder for leakage.
-
I see what you did there. I'm gonna do that on the first! I have been putting it off for too long.

That is a great question, but I'm waiting patiently. The tint guy is going to get it done in January, with life hitting him hard recently and Chrysler delivering all the new 2020 Dodge and what's left of the 2019 models, he has been busy. Rest assured 89 MJ, you will be the first to know about the decals!

Been there, done that. Except I did it the hard way and never removed the side window. Probably should have but oh well. Must be nice to not get wet on the inside. I have to do the infamous door hinge repair to stop that.
-
I feel very productive lately. Knocking stuff off the long list of stuff to do. Now I just need to tend to other members requests. I blame life. Can’t always do MJ stuff. Anyways bug shield is on and rear bumper bracket will be swapped

One less thing to worry about doing in the future.
-
Apparently this recall was only issued to "salt belt" states as Chrysler puts it.
-
Think of it this way. Its free brake rotors! As far as Chrysler changing the rotors, no I doubt it. Now the knuckles I have heard changed for the 4WD models. Yes you have to take it in in order for the recall to be closed and done.
-
So I decoded it and this truck has buckets and an open recall.
-
Yup. Oddly enough. The first MJ I have run across with an open recall.
