I might make an attempt to do just that. The tach that was in Chunk now has a bad resistor I’m going to replace. I think the one resistor that went bad is what controls the pulses as the tach just pegs out wayyy past 7k. So I might give that a shot.

Anyone have any knowledge on them? I am starting to toy with them and so far they are resistors and two chips. I’m gonna try to see if there’s a difference in the resistors to make future conversions possible for 6 to 4 cyl engines.

Probably would bring in a decent buck. I also never paid attention to the oil pressure gauge until last night when I saw it said 60 in the middle and 120 for the high. I’m wondering what kind of Frankenstein cluster this is. I mean I’ll hang on to it unless someone needs it. -

So Chunk was hiding away this gem on the cluster he came with when I got him No he was never a diesel engine. But this makes me think the PO found a cluster with this info center panel or bought a new one. -
I might claim the 4cyl parts.

Got the new cluster restored and tested and every gauge works as it should. Also installed a NOS tach. I’m gonna rebuild the old one and see if I can get 2 for 2 on rebuilds. Now I'm fighting with the speedo. 84-86 speedos are wayyyy different than the later ones I have taken the needle and face off to try to match the miles of the old speedo. We shall see if it works out. -

Lol. My neighbors are a couple of old folk who come and go really fast so I rarely see them leave or come home. So they probably won’t mind the annex. -

Well here's an idea. If you can get up in there, see if you can find the same thread pitch bolt, flatten the hex end and weld it to the fender frame so that way it never moves again.

I don’t see any thing in the catalog. May not be serviceable.

Moved to the pub for ya where more eyes will see. As for 92 MJs, only 952 were made so yeah you’re not gonna find many for sale.

Trans/Power holding gear issues

Something electrical sounds out of whack. Have any resistance on the ground circuit. -
Go rent a injector noid tester and plug it into the injector plug. See if you get a light or not. Should be dim(or bight, one of the two) and pulsing. If it does then the ECU is good. If nothing then it’s bad. But the injector and ECU are close in price these days so I’m willing to bet it’s the injector. Rarely they go bad but there is a 25 page epic on how we came to the conclusion that the injector was bad despite testing within ohm’d specs.

Front Fender Liners

Holy molly man! Ive shipped a set and I don't think it even cost that member that much to get them. Course you are in Guam so that might hike the price up. So thats where my NOS parts keep disappearing to. Lol. -
Vacuum connector to throttle body
eaglescout526 replied to Cali Steve's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I am not seeing it as a serviceable component sadly. No new harnesses are out there either. So probably some RTV may not be a bad idea for getting the block to seal right. Or the block can be done away and just straight pipe. I sadly don't have an 86 and have only worked with 3 86 2.5Ls in my life. It must also be a sought after vac line as when I was in Prescott Valley last weekend I found a 4 door 86 that didnt have any lines but just the manifold. Damn I need to go back to that yard. -

Got the cluster assembled, havent test anything yet, gonna have to take the speedo out and match the miles on Chunk. Also took Chunk right to the corner to get half a tank of gas so I can start him up every once in a while. And yesterday I took a pic of both marchals assembled and hopefully aligned right. Now I need to start doing things. Ill have to update the homestead with the new look of the garage. -
Vacuum connector to throttle body
eaglescout526 replied to Cali Steve's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It is. It’s an 86 so it’s a very very odd duck. Ive never looked into that part as the later years go to just single hoses but I can see if that’s something that was available. -

Yeah it definitely is my oddest haul I’ve gotten. I forgot what I had ordered in the beginning as most of these parts ordered were based on how cheap they were. I really only needed two parts from this order but I’ve since hung on to a few.
