  1. Try tightening it then backing it off. Try using trans fluid on it. I can’t tell from the pic but can you get a nut splitter on it. I’ve had to deal with those nuts many times and they can be a nightmare. Good luck 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  2. I’m good. That 24 hrs of daylight would be rough. I think I would get extremely sour having to deal with that. Would through the biological clock off. No harm done. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  3. Ya I know. Found two in an old yard next to each other out in the desert. One is gone now the other I took the rims holding it up out from the back. Pull the brake hubs off of it to make them look smaller and buried it as best as I could with sand. Next month I may have the funds to grab it. If it’s still there. They want 250 for it an expense I hadn’t planed for. But there are few out there so if I don’t get it I’ll kick myself in the butt later. And if I do get it I’m going to sell it. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  4. Well that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m also reading some misinformation and trying hard to get it straight. That’s why I retracted the information. So back off and quit trying to police the site not unless you own it. I admitted the mistake. This is a site where people come to learn things and exchange information. Not a site where you deserve a beat down if you make a mistake. I notice you do that frequently on here. When you do that you drive people away from the site. I thought the purpose of the site was to get involved as a Community of MJ owners and we want more involvement. Not drive people away from it. So just settle down and stop with the beat downs. Lots of people learning here and so am l. So after my apology and admission that I made a mistake and went off bad information of which there is plenty out there. The end of your comment is basically a beat down and bullying. Keep it civil and don’t go out of your way to tear people down. Whats the point of it. Other then self gratification. And with people doing modifications and AMC pulling what ever they had available off the shelf who knows what you may find. Always worth a look and I look under every one I see in a yard. You identified 2 of the axles as D44s what about the third one. They are all under MJs or XJs so what is your opinion on it? Not trying to cause a fight here just trying to learn and sort bad info from good so I don’t pass it on. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  5. Oh man I’m sorry but the differences noted are on the front D44 and D60. I don’t want to get any bad info out there. I’m still learning about stuff. And apparently my counting is off. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  6. Question? In noticed the D44 cover in the picture has 10 bolts holes. Isn’t that a D60 cover. My D44 only has 9 bolt holes. I researched how to tell the difference and from what I found that was the only way to tell the difference at first glance. I have found two D60s in the yards. One under a Cherokee and one under a Comanche. Sense a few people on this forum apparently need proof of funds like that here are the pics D60 under Cherokee 10 bolts D60 under Comanche 10 bolts D44 under my truck has 9 dolt holes That’s what I understood when I did the research on it. I think it checks out correct. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  7. 2 different thoughts on this. This fabric is not so easy to find. One option is using the fabric off the rear set of a Cherokee with the same design. Seat skins are cheap out of a junkyard. Number 2 I know where an almost perfect pasanger seat is located with that same pattern. It absolutely covered in desert dust but in amazing condition. The yard it’s located in is an absolute disaster in a small town that you could hold your breath and drive threw. And your prices very as to the one employee that is working that day. Its in an 86 or 87 Cherokee Laredo. I don’t get out there that much but I’m planing a trip after the 4th of next month. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35

  10. I’ve had 8 4.0s in different Jeeps. I tried the high end Bosch even split fires. They seamed to work great for a while then drop off within a year or less. The best overall preforming plug over the long haul I’ve found are NKG’s. I tried them on a recommendation about 11 years ago and haven’t looked back. Know I buy them for everything when possible. Well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35

Gives you that sick uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach to find one of those on ya. Got them here too. As a matter of fact I’m spraying today. Give us the rest of the story how did you resolve that one? 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  12. Hated to see it cut in half. But I’m kind of a purist when comes Comanches. I like to see them preserved. He worked hard on it and the truck turned out great. It’s a beast. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  13. Scored for sure 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  14. Different rims, tires, a lift and take the running boards off. That would look nice. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  15. That’s cool 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  16. In 89 when I bought my first XJ part of the deal was the salesman had to give the poster off his wall. Its full size and has the complete line up for 1989 including the MJ. I’ll have to dig around and see if I could find it but that might mean unloading a trailer. Uuugggg. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  17. It’s pretty rough, 4.0,5sp,Dana 35, Black interior, full gauge cluster red and blue old style, slider with one pane replacer with plexiglass still savageable, bench seat, bench seat, up graded door panels with pockets, headliner panel is still there but no fabric. I pulled the console and silver dash besel. There’s an 86 cherokee close to it with a very nice red interior there to. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  18. I’ve noticed that a lot of peaple have no idea what axles are under their XJs especially if they are the third or forth owner. They just know it gets them where they want to go. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  19. If you don’t mind me asking how much did it set you back and did you get the jams done? 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  20. Looks great who did the paint? 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  21. Agreed, chrome trim is making a comeback here in southern CA. Hope is a trend. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
  22. They look good with 2-3 inch lift. Got a 2001 8yrs ago had an incredible 3 thousand on it. Was a chase car for large RV. Guy had it on the net for 20 min before I saw it. Bought it at 7am next morning in Anaheim. Its my fifth one and the best one I’ve owned. Has 108 thousand on it now. I’ll never sell it. They’ll have to pry it from my cold dead fingers. Congrats on getting a beautiful car. 88 Pioneer 4x4 auto LB D30/D44 88 Eliminator 4x2 5sp SB D35
