  1. Guys my speedo and gas gauge not working. Car set for about a year. Checked the fuse and its good and freshened up the ground on the block. Still a no go. Can’t seem to find the info on 1-5. If you have any ideas please or could direct me to the info that would help. Thanks
  2. Really good info here guys. I’m going to upgrade my 88 Comanche and the 01 Cherokee. Squeeze as much mileage as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Biggest issue I’ve had to deal with, witch is consistently tough for me, has been the bolts holding down the seats. Lube them multiple times before wrenching on them because if you round them off, it can get really difficult.
  4. Now that’s cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That looks great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Years ago I across some old wallets at an estate sale. I bought them because they had some great western art on them. Old and worn just added to the character of them. My guess they were from the 60s-50s judging from the style of the western hats on the cowboys. I’m looking into doing some leather work so I’m going to do something with them. Just not sure what yet. 7. I really only looked at the bed. Looked very straight both sides. Someone took care of this truck hardly any body dings in it. Not even door dings. Scorch marks looked as if grass under it had started it burning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That a rare truck and expensive midsize for the time. 4x4 Eliminator very cool. They made 3,142 Comanches that year and I’m thinking around 500 were Eliminators. So less then that were 4x4 Eliminators. I’m pulling the 500 number off the top of my head from my past research so don’t quote me on that. 2 years ago one came up on Craig’s list in LA area. It had a very crappy Macco pant job. All stock and they were asking 14,000. It was gone in 2wks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Are you leaving it 2wd? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Have black door panels not sure if they have the pockets and black small console. Interested in cash I’ve got most of the parts you have already. I have a line on a black bench seat in good condition I just to pull it from the yard. It needs to be conditioned from being in the sun but it’s in great shape. Also have a lower black after market seat cover. PM me if your interested. Have the gray dash bezel and black sport steering wheel too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Depends allot on rust and what your are willing to do keep it on the road. Preventive maintenance is a big deal if you see some thing that you know should be fixed do it. Don’t wait till it breaks then fix it. If that rust is starting do some thing to stop it. My friend who ran his 4.0 Cherokee to 450,000 gave it to me because it wouldn’t pas smog anymore. Now it’s Bluenotenick’s and my parts car. A car treats you how you treat it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rusted body is the big one. Do some poking with a screw driver but ask first. If I had a guy walked around a 20 year old car and check every little thing on it and try to ding me on each thing. I would tell him that if he wanted a new car he should go by one. And I have done that before. It’s a 20year old car and it is what it is. End of story and end of my dealing with that guy. NEXT. If the bones are good you should buy it. Don’t let the 18 days for sale scare you, we’re just past the Christmas Holidays and people are trying to recover their finances and no tax refunds yet. Not the best time to sell a car. That could work to your advantage. Best of luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ya that’s what I remember from my childhood. My uncle finished up a 43 Willys before he passed away. He literally got it as a pile of yellow rusted parts. The next time I saw it it was a full on war time Jeep. Restored to its veteran status. He did a beautiful job on it. The only thing it needed was the canvas top. I’m heading to AZ at the end of the month to get the Jag I’ll take some pics of it. I would say my fav is the Scrambler then the Commando. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Welcome, read up on some of the history of the comanche. You find it’s helpful. Know that you are driving a piece of Jeep history. They’re getting harder and harder to find. You have come to the rite place to figure out some of issues you may encounter. Lots of helpful people here with allot of knowledge. Your going to fall in love with that truck. Its ok we all have. 17. https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/mus/2006/01/Jeep-Comanche-Eliminator/1281056.html This is the article I got the info from. Give it a read it has allot of good info on our trucks. They came out in 88 and in 91 they were offered in 4x4. It was a 2,929 dollar package. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ya it’s silver not chrome. I’m sure some guys didn’t like the silver and changed before the took them home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. If you get it Nick get a motion sensor light out front. Most have a cable that runs door to door under the car. They have a tendency to disappear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I like it going to get one. My truck still has the original silver Eliminator bumpers on it. The truck is black so I’m going to stick with silver. I’m going to sell it so it’s going to be advertised as an Eliminator and it need to look like one. According to what I’ve read all Eliminators came out with silver bumpers. If anyone finds different info please tell me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If it’s descent grab it. Offer 1,400 then meet him halfway at 1,600 if you really like it. These are getting harder and harder to find even in the junkyards. A 4x4 for 1,600 is cheap. Expect to put some work into it but it can be really good car. I’ve had 5 of them and my buddy got 450,000 out of his. They are tough as hell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. If I was going to keep it that would be the way to go, but I just don’t want to put the money into it. Good suggestion thou. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Have an 88 eliminator going to repaint the bumpers in silver back to stock color. Anyone done this if so what paint would you recommend? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Agreed, heavy winds and you would have some serious trouble. Probably moderate winds and you would have your hands full. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Thanks for posting this I learned something new today. Never knew this existed and never seen anything like this. My god what that would worth today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
