Dana 44 differences?
ejndssn replied to Phoenix of Fury's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
here is some info http://www.jeeptech.com/convaxle/d44.html for start and you may want to do a search for the axle you are looking for :hmm: the only difference that i know of is that the perch placement are different between XJ SOA and MJ SUA. I could be wrong and if that is the case there is someone one here that will have the correct info :brows: -

if ya had a way to scope the noise and isolate where it is comming from what it sounds like to me is that it could be chatter from the rockers/ lifters or timing chain slop :hmm: i would try and get one of those mechnic's scope and you can find where the noise is coming from.

Problem solved. She wanted a high school diploma. Six years in the slammer should be plenty of time to get her G.E.D. and not even a chance at being the prom queen :rotf:

My temp problems haven't really been solved. I'm just band-aiding (is this a real word  ) the prob by running the electric fan and HVAC controls on full blast. Screw the fine, this bastard gets free food all the time. At least he should have said something about the fine. I'm trying reeeeealy hard not to pick up that sawzall. Can't go on the 25th. However the good news is I'm giving up on the shop. I put it up for sale with a real estate agent. Hopefully the sucker sells and I'll go get a normal job with the mob so I can have more time to work on the MJ (and of course spend more time with the wife and kids) I'm ripping the cat off tonight......one way or another. aye chico i still would like to here the sawzall story :brows: it must be a good one if ya keepin it underwraps :laughin: I still think they sale hollow cats and maybe JC withney has them goodluck

:agree: i was one of those guys that had to do just that so i switched to ax-15 external mind you the spline count was what got me (Peugeot=21 & AX15=23) but other than that its all good now

:hmm: I don't see any dolphin's in the picture anyway here is what they look like just in case :brows:

One question on replacing the rear main seal...
ejndssn replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
your showin your age Pete :laughin: that was all we had to work with back then -
. the odds where not in my favor two in a year :brows: and the switch was on i went with external setup just for that reason and have not look back since. I know that they must have got a better internal slave, unless the dealership are the only place to get the best ones. I've read & seen a post on here of two different types pic's included :brows: and one was far better that the other I :dunno: who has them or where to get them from for those that still have the inny slave vice the outty slave :agree: with teeroy take it to a mechanic who you know or of your friends that know. now would be a good time to network. this could be an easy fix if its just the hose line and you'll know where they stand if they tell you upfront also.
