  1. Piece of steel like that doesn't even need packaging. Slap a label on. Wrap in clear tape. SEND IT.
  2. GemTop is long gone. Got rolled up into another company probably 20yrs ago. I would liken that model to the entry level A.R.E. V-series: For reference, here are the weights for the V-series: https://www.4are.com/product/v/dealers/specifications.php Having wrestled with my topper quite a few times, I would have guessed the weight at around 160lbs.
  3. Wow... a 30y/o handful of wires sold for $175. Props to the $eller on that one. LoL! That is crazy given how readily available drop-in lighting harnesses are nowadays.
  4. Interesting! So are the actual lights Marchals?
  5. *bump for new members* The tool still works and it can be very useful for keeping an eye on MJ market prices. Mods, maybe consider this thread for a sticky post?
  6. Every Comanche on Facebook Marketplace ^^I have this thread bookmarked from a couple years ago. The search tool still works and it's great for keeping an eye on MJ market prices. Good luck with your search.
  7. What a travesty... their website doesn't have a used car for sale section. Once upon a time, a junkyard worker told me that once they took possession of a vehicle they were prohibited from reselling it whole. Some kind of title issue. Should have posted on Reno and Phoenix craigslist. That OEM bumper and Leer camper shell alone would be worth the roadtrip.
  8. Which screws are stuck and what's the condition of the screw heads? You can access the backside of both inboard/outboard lower screws from underneath the bed. I'd focus on destroying the backside of the clip nuts. I think that's the only part that the screw threads actually engage with. Might be able to get your dremel up there with the burr attachment. Getting at the the top screws would be more tricky... but I see you already got the Sawzall on deck. That solves that problem.
  9. Nice truck! Only 59k? She's barely broken in!
  10. Poor guy has been down in the weeds on that project for years. Just seemed like way too much garage time, not enough seat time. I was kind of curious to see what he was going to do with it after so many man-hours invested.
  11. Adjust your steering stops by installing flat washers under the welded nut until the interference is resolved. May take 3-5 washers depending on thickness.
  12. There is a market for any car they can snatch. In Mexico, a person can drive an unregistered imported (stolen) vehicle for years with no repercussions. This is because failing to register an imported (stolen) vehicle is a federal offense. The state police do not care to write it up and the Federales have bigger fish to fry. Stolen imports sell for cheap and you can even buy fake plates from street vendors. There's a thriving dark market around stolen imports Mexico.
  13. That's pretty slick. I didn't know it was possible to get a decent bond like that. Nice work.
  14. This is awesome!
  15. ^Agree. Haven't seen anything posted recently. Chatter usually starts building in late spring. Here is the 2021 FB page. Maybe try dm'ing the previous organizers: https://facebook.com/events/s/2021-mj-takeover/338082670971715/ Who knows maybe rising gas prices killed it. A lot of rigs were trailer queens from out of state.
  16. It's a nice truck that should turn a few heads. Hopefully someone here can run the VIN for you. It's gotta be a very early '91. Looks like it has a HP D30 with CAD which is an odd bird. About half way through '91 they ditched the CAD system. For my money, I'd be very interested to know if that system is functioning properly. But no biggie, there a few aftermarket solutions to fix the CAD system. Enjoy the ride!
  17. Doesn't look too different than mine. Cost was around $40 to resurface. This is one of those jobs that you might as well do while you're in there since the teardown is such a PITA.
  18. <shutup_and_take_my_money.gif>
  19. Very sorry to hear. Just flipped through your build thread -- it was such a unique and personalized restoration project. Man, people are the worst!
  20. The winch is actually mounted down inside the bumper. Only the control box is mounted on top of the bumper. You can actually mount your control box anywhere you like (for example, inside the engine bay) if you run extended wires.
  21. Mulching season again. Just about the only time of year the topper comes off.
  22. Nice score. What lights did you go with?
  23. Yeah... I probably saw 3 across all of 2021. Seen none on the road so far this year but found 1 in a junkyard. Sport bar and a Warn Trans4mer?? That guy's gotta be a member!
