Hey pete what happened to 9 shades of red ? I'm digg'in the military look though , would look sweet with some desert painted D windows ..

Are we going to have to come up there and throw them a Tea party or what ?

Not at all dasbulliwagen , explaining how newer trucks are just a re-badged and sold like hot cakes has always amazed me . Frankly , I'll keep my MJ , they can have all the shiny mexican plastic they want . I'll build my own truck my own way . Right here in the USA ...

Anybody make a bumper like this ..... ???
DJM/78 replied to webbjeepxj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
See now I was thinking it would be nice to have a roller ramp built in for my bikes . Trying to get a 380 lb bike in a 6" lifted truck isn't fun on skimpy ramps . -
With all the talk of these stupid armored tail lights that I really want BAD and I can't have , I guess I'll have to spend the time and money to fab them myself . Apparently no one is going to make them so when I get my MJ bed , I'll start fabricating a template , I don't care if I screw it up once or twice I think the finished product will be sweet , LED's and 1/4" steel . Haven't decided on the armored bedsides yet .

The newer style gasket / trim also makes it easier to cut out if you have to replace it again . Also just as important as the prep , please use PPG glass . LOF is good glass as well but PPG is unmatched in my book . Often the big price difference is what brand glass the shop is using . Saftylite = :ack: PPG =

Sweet 91" man I wish I could have found mine with a clean body like that .
-
They look good when their new but I don't know , to me they just scream - Spandex - Nice 92" by the way , its nice to see another 92" getting the resto treatment .

IMO , you shouldn't pay over 300-600 for a used rear , depending on condition . However cheap out if you will , plan on spending 1200+ on rebuilding them . In the end it doesn't get any cheaper . Just because they say its rebuilt doesn't mean its completely rebuilt . The price usually reflects the quality thats been put into it and the amount of labor used . I spent about 1500 on my D44 so I get roused all the time about how much I spent , until they find out that its been Completely rebuilt . Shafts , bearings , gears , brakes , Its nice to have a drivetrain with less than 500 miles on it . Rides like a brand new truck ..

What are the specs ? D30/44 , D33,35 , AMC rear ? 2X or 4X ? Trac-Loc , towing option ? Buckets or bench . Interior options ? Is there still a door sticker ? I'm not sure but did you run the vin# ?

Someone might correct me here but I don't think 91"-92" MJ's have the CPS , just Renix 4.0's . Yours sounds like fuel injection or something with a sensor or harness problem . :dunno:

So you need brackets and braces ? Those are sold individually , I need the braces too .
-
How does those upper shock mounts look ? I found one of mine snapped off , so it was a good time to replace and weld in new mounts when I did my shocks .

I wanna see .... :peek: I might just have to swing down and say ... :wavey:

More axle swap questions.
DJM/78 replied to JeepinSoldier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Dave -- PLEASE tell me you welded the spring perches to the axle tubes after that first photo was taken. Yes sir , that was just a pic of a close shot during the mock up stage , you can't see them in the second pic but they are welded now . We ended up using a Tera-Flex SOA kit . -
Good buy , I recently found out they are the same make as the RE monotubes , just powder coated . I really like my new shocks .

DJM/78 replied to JeepinSoldier's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Here is how we mounted the spring perches . I still welded new shock mounts at the top and just made shock mounts for the lower . The 4x4 shops around here have them just laying around so it was easy for us to see witch one fit better . -
free one in frisco ww/extras
DJM/78 replied to shawn's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Ha , the lumber rack is worth more to the owner than the truck . We actually have a town named Frisco here in CO . -
Titty's CW , the Diamond bright looks great .
