Can't go wrong there , I'm using the RE version and LOVE them ... -
Looks pretty good to me ...
-
Reminds me of when I first saw my truck on CL . :chillin:
-
Yeah man , if had a truck I would have just taken it down to him , I don't have the ability to tow anything or I would've gotten it yesterday .
-
The whole truck ...
-
The topic was pretty active on NAXJA but still no word ... :dunno:
-
That track bar mount is beefy , looks like the Curry mount .... Good job , as if you need to hear that from me . :dunce:
-
Yeah , I like how he matched the wheels keeping the big rig look , that thing is sweet .
-
:rotfl2: I always like looking at this truck , makes me think of all the things I have to do , the never ending saga ....

I need help!! (with axles and gears)
DJM/78 replied to The BOMB's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:agree: 35"s will fit fine in the rear with a big enough lift , however the front will have to be trimmed for sure . You'll also have to put a ton of money in front axle to run 35"s without blowing through D30's . 33's and 456's all day long ..... -
My vote goes to Jimoshel , I don't really need another MJ but I'd help Jim get it , he'll find a nice home for her ... Let me know if you guys need help .

Looks good , must be nice on these summer days . Are you going to cage it or put a rail in there , I like how you can see the seat from the outside .. ;) -
quick shock question
DJM/78 replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
;) I didn't think that you wanted new ones , most guys go out and pull them from a JY but new would be cool . If you put the coils in take the spacers out , I used one or the other and it was about the same . The springs rode better than the pucks . -
PM sent. Did someone from NAXJA pick this one up already ?
-
They'll fit with some sort of box , you'll have to make it or have it made but it will fit with the Amp too . You probably won't have any room back there after but it would be loud for sure .

quick shock question
DJM/78 replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ZJ V8 coils from a JY or a forum . You'll be able to put a heavier bumper on as well . Shocks are personal pref. but at about 2"-3" I'd put new shocks on . -
Just for added info , I ran stock non metric MJ leafs and factory shackles on a Tera Flex SOA with an XJ D44 , the lift ended up being 6" in the rear without metric leafs , so in using longer shackles or metric leafs should net at least 6.5" in the rear with the SOA . That being said with the set up that I used had the stock spring rate as a MJ should but I did loose some load capability . If I throw 300 to 400= pounds in there it saggs more than it did with the SUA set up . My opinion is to get a spring pack close to the same measurements as stock with just a tad more spring rate , maybe even the stock ratio would be perfect if they were not 20 years old . My springs ride smooth and I still have the ability to tow and throw weight in the bed with 0 problems , I just can't throw as much weight as I did with SUA .

Another leaf spring question
DJM/78 replied to MjPioneer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Custom leaf packs are the way to go , don't buy pre-made leafs for any other vehicle but an MJ . Springs should be made for your specific vehicle weight and load capability , Measurements should be taken from eye to eye for proper arc and lift height . IMO , if the stock springs lasted 20 years and cost 200$ that would be a good investment . I spent 700$ on over marked rubber tires made in some factory somewhere by some low payed techs . Yep they'll be toast in a year and we'll all be lining up at the tire shop wanting to pay top dollar for rubber ... A good pair of well made smooth ridding leaf packs can be the best investment for your truck . Just to think , leaf packs actually cost more to make than rubber tires , but we'll pay more for tires for sure ... Maybe thats why the CEO's of Goodyear and BFG are flying around in private jets and we are left paying for their overpriced rubber . I don't see to many owners of spring and steel manufacturers flying around in private jets , their probably driving an MJ ... -

Thanks ! I left them on for now , I'm thinking when I paint it I'll just throw the one red stripe down the side . I like to think of the stripes as Nike swooshes and the older stripes Adidas , don't know why I see them that way ... Its like the MJ switched sponsors in the 90"s .. :fool: -
4 door Comanche in the wild, just saw this on jeep forum.
DJM/78 replied to lostissues's topic in The Pub
Looks like the cab line was tough to match , you can see the MJ's cab looks a little taller . -
It would be cool to see the background in Diamond bright or make the dot in com a big bolt or something .
-
Alright , after I head up to Denver today I'll be working on some more CAD work , so far the designs are taking about 5 hrs a piece . So far I think my only way to show them is to make the file a PDF then E-mail it to myself , then I can store it on my hard drive then upload to photo bucket . :shake:

Sorry to hear that Jim , its like loosing someone in the family , so I guess all we can do is give them the good life while we can .
