cruiser54 replied to Jaime's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Fuel pressure regulator is bad, allowing higher than necessary fuel pressure at idle. Replace it. -

Check the tube from the throttle body to MAP sensor on the firewall. It must be perfect or your MJ will run pig-rich. -

Swap the relays around on the passenger side inner fender. Good idea shelbyluvv. With it idling, shake the crap out of the engine harness everywhere you can. -

Using struts on Comanche hood
cruiser54 replied to pitbull4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Here's one I bookmarked once. http://www.cherokeetalk.com/forum/f68/xj-hood-strut-shock-conversion-17421/ -
Cool stuff. And you know I'm only teasing you about the wiring diagrams, right? LOL.
-
Gotta love it. Great job. How come I had to look it up for ya then? You've got a schematic!!. LOL. Any time.
-
Got a meter?
-
The brake lights and turn signals share the same wiring. They also share the turn signal/hazard switch up in the column along with a few connectors. Wiggle the hazard knob in and out and see what happens. But, don't ignore the connector previously mentioned.
-
Is the intake boot on the throttle body held on with 3 screws or a clamp? 3 screws is renix.
-
2 different circuits in play. Look up under the dash/steering column and see if a long white or blue connector with a ton of wires isn't partially disconnected.

I think you were reading about changing the key tumbler...... -
Just asking is there a way to tell if the system is hold pressure or not? Yep. It will get hot and spit coolant out around the cap.
