  1. oh the hated BA10/5, the weakest tranny behind the 4.0, nobody wants it but a can a pukegoat be of any use? i think it can... well, the bellhousing that is. from the pics i have seen appear that an external slave cylinder can be bolted to it theres a hole where the fork would pivot and from outside there appear to be holes for the slave cylinder bolts isnt it easy to drill an adapter plate to fit this bellhousing to something else, like a ford or GM tranny? plus, theres a slot for the CPS already
  2. get a pair of S10 from the junkyard and make a bastard pack, replace the broken leaf and add one on each side, after all, the dana 35 limits how much load you can carry anyway, with an extra leaf won't compress much
  3. plug all the hoses and throw it away, but it may not pass emissions if they notice it´s missing... and you´ll be dumping gasoline vapors to the atmosphere...
  4. there are a few things that require the vacuum lines, you can isolate the ones you don't want and leave the others...
  5. the tailhousing is the same, 5 speed has the OD gear inside, that´s all
  6. thank you, i knew i would be faster than searching through my files
  7. it´s been a while since i had any trouble with my MJ, last night i realized that i have no headlights, and the dome lights are stuck on, from what i have read XJ/MJ don't have headligth relays, all the power goes throught the dashboard switch and then to the headlights.. not a good design from the functional and safety viewpoints, in case of a short circuit the whole dash can catch on fire anyway, do anyone have a copy of the electrical diaghram? i hace changed my computer several times and i have no idea where my copy is...
  8. yep, otherwise there won´t be any coolant flowing to the heater core until the thermostat is fully open...
  9. then how automatic ECUs know when to limit the rpm and when not to? you can revv up the engine in neutral and park right?
  10. most automatics cap the rpms and cut the power during shifts, not sure if MJ´s do it, how much communication is there between the ECU and the TCU?
  11. How about making a full MJ replica?, its just a lot of sheet metal...
  12. you gain 8 hP but lose a lot of low end torque... unless the old renix is toast, fine tune it, follow cruiser´s advice and keep it rolling...
  13. 2.73 in a vehicle that was meant to be driven on rough terrain, what were they thinking, but look with those gear i STILL get terrible gas mileage
  14. i thought the OD was meant to make up for the low rear ratios, the CAFE is killing the planet instead of saving it...
  15. yes, 3.08... i wonder why Jeep even bothered putting such ratios on 4WD models, the 3.55 would be the bare minimum for off-roading
  16. both should be 3.07 but is better to check, just in case some PO had messed with it
  17. if you get too happy with the hex wrench
  18. mine was bent too well, it still is, took it off the truck and jumped on it to straighten it, didnt work, you must dissasemble it to get it back the way it was, i gave up...
  19. or you can install slighty smaller tires but would want to do that
  20. the starter, worn brushes, happened to me...
  21. A Jeep pick up powered by a Buick engine coupled to a jeep tranny with a dodge sourced bellhousing... and with a Ford sourced 8.8 rear axle...i will call it the Frankenjeep...
  22. dakota´s bellhousing?, i better start doing the list of item
  23. i wonder why no one else has done it, looks like a great swap...
