  3. AFAIK you don't "need" to resurface a flywheel unless is scratched or too bent, as long as it is straight and smooth, it works
  4. do 4.7 WJs ever came with a diff other than dana 44a? a friends WJ (the once my MJ had to tow after its ecu blew up) but is not aluminum...
  5. i know but without the real thing at hand, i could only share my experiences with it, my frustratd plans...if only i could find a 4 cylinder, 4 speed, 2wd, bare bones, it could be my new fresh canvas... or a metric ton btw is still in the county yard, and probably will stay there for a long time
  6. update is gone, some idiot crashed on it while it was parked, total loss, i got the equivalent to $1,200 dollars as compensation... adios vaquero i have no comanche now i have nothing more to share here
  7. It all comes down to the relative movement between the AXLE vs the FRAME, due the way the suspension works when the axle goes up/down the frame moves left/right what keeps the axle centered with the frame? the control arms and the pannhard rod, start by checking those.
  8. any XJ after 97 will have the chrysler 8.25 29 splines, almost as good as a dana 44, same width, lug pattern, easy to find and relatively cheap. cons - drums, requires some fabrication
  9. i would agree if the comanche donor subframe is rotten beyond saving. destroying a good MJ to make a frankenstein is a sin
  10. Factory Non AC... unscrew it, if it woobles replace the bearing

  12. how about getting one that already is 4x4? depending on the donor´s year and drivetrain it may be either a plug n play swap or a pain in the @$$

  15. by fluctution you mean the needle moves between those values non stop? you can see the needel moving? if so maybe the sender is bad
  16. its seems that your engine is running ice cold all the time, maybe your thermostat is stuck open
  17. take the shifter from a XJ, plug n play
  18. plug the holes in the manifold and exhaust and call it a day... the engine will run better but it won't pass emissions so beware

  20. most exploders came with 3.73, only a few packages came with 4.10 so don't be dissapoinetd if you can't find one

  23. finally, after all these years i have the time, tools, will and knowledge to upgrade my MJs rear suspension, as my signature says, some PO swapped a dana 44 but it didnt included the beefy leaf pack of the metric ton package, so i parked the MJ, lifted the rear and removed the tiny leaf packs. after a trip to the junkyard i picked a few leaves that seemed to fit and took apart the packs, after a good cleaning and paint i came to the point of re assembling the bastard pack then i realize, what center bolt to use? do any bolt will do or should i go for a a heavy duty one? i know it sounds weird that i came this far only to stop now but it´s my first time so i could use some help
