  1. i like mine 2WD, and can switch to 4wd with relative ease if needed...
  2. i don't know about the renix but AFAIK older inyection systems did add some extra fuel if the driver pressed the gas pedal while cranking, back when carbs and FI coexisted
  3. 30 secs? your started must be fried by now define long. with a hot engine and thus a properly primed LPG, my truck starts in less than 2 secs, i release the key as soon as the engine begins to turn and most of the times it starts. of course the camshaft sensor is disconnected so the ECU ignores it right away and goes to batch mode inyection even if i have no inyectors to fire, that must save cranking time
  4. nice explanation... yet people still try to revv up the 4.0...
  5. the BJ? yes raised roof and longer wheel base, but no, no 3rd row...
  6. i was thinking about a chevy Astro, or a Durango but the old V8 will kill my wallet overtime, there´s no cool factor there, a minivan? NEVER i rather die than being seeing driving one... the whole point of a comacherokee is to build it, to reuse stuff that may go to the trash, i got the idea because there was this nice XJ with the front crushed in a traffic accident waiting to be dismantled near where i live, an XJ that has been rear ended may complete the project...
  7. and keep it cooled whilñe you grind, you don´t want the rubber to melt
  8. take the chance to refrsh the axle, new seals, new oil etc...
  9. get the dana 44 no matter which ratio, these days, MJ dana 44s are becoming the holy grail
  10. i could live in it... i thought about splicing doors but then i remember that such windows will not exist...
  11. some do, and have done it...
  12. the idea was to not mess with the underside of the truck but that´s another option, and no MJ will be damaged in the process, XJs are a dime a dozen
  13. that means the 2nd row will end up between the doors or to the side where the spare tire is in the long bed MJ, i wonder if it fits....the XJ already has a the spare tire inside, i don´t like it, i would make a hitch to put it in the back
  14. i though about that too but that means the 2nd row would be accessed by the front doors? possible but it will look weird i´m still figuring out about the doors, in a way that involves less fabbing, cutting the uniframe once is bad for rigidity, is easier to cut and weld doors, maybe extend the rear ones as the notch has to be there anyway, but that involves cutting the and relocating the B pillar. and using 2-door XJ seats that fold all the way to allow access to the rear notching the XJ floor and bending down the rails? the rails would come up between the feet of the 2 row passengers, also the roof is raised here for more head room, the 2dn and 3rd row are meant to seat a little higher
  15. everybody wants a 4 door Comanche, or Cheromanche how about a Comacheroke? a long wheel base MJ, with no bed and the back of the cabin chopped off the rear half of an XJ cut to fit the rear axle custom made rear XJ doors, or longer doors out of a 2-door XJ, havent figuered out this yet raised roof in the rear 3 row seats, i´m a fan of 3rd row seats what you think?
  16. as a learning experience? well that would be a costly lesson, get some junkyad part and experiment, while you are it, weld a truss to the D35 and hope it lasts
  17. and the fuel related problems: higher flow inyectors, higher flow pump, higher or adjustable fuel regulator, more displacememnt means more air so more fuel is required to feed the beast
  18. get the stroker only if you know how to do it...
  19. is advanced a few degrees isnt? or was it retarded? to get rid of the EGR, also the HO has the torque peak at higher revs
  20. 1989 -> Renix 1990 -> mopar the older renix had better fuel economy due several factors, camshaft profile etc... 1989 was the transition year for the HO?
  21. that, if you can notice it then is too much
