  1. i don't see why you need square sockets, take a bolt large enough and grind it, its just a square, squares are easy
  2. - you have to solder wires between the missing traces - i´m sure the part number can be found in the web... or from another ECU - electronics store
  3. that was a nasty shortcircuit... can be fixed thought
  4. the relays are not just for more visibility, they are also for safety... as for headlight options, is your choice, depends on how much light you want...
  5. you need a Renix XJ donor, and a custom rear shaft
  6. do old ford headlights fit the comanches? based on visula inspection i can say yes...with some modding
  7. autozone? AFAIK there´s no plug and play solution for sale, you must wire it yourself, i would use 2, one for each headlight
  8. in the original setup the current goes from the battery, to the switch and then back to the headlights harness, that lowers voltage a lot, installing a relay makes the headlights get full 14v AND prevents the switch to overheat and catch on fire
  9. try installing a relay
  10. Dakota bench seats fit with some minor tweaks don't they?
  11. i want to add the Chevrolet S10 for the steering column but some say is not a direct fit and Dodge durango steering boxes...
  12. or less many are rusting in junkyards
  13. what trucks/cars other than XJ/MJ have parts that we can use? i´m trying to make a list of such things, the one´s have learned of - Ford explorer 8.8 rear axle with disks - Dakota with the 2.5 and AX15 - Isuzu rodeo with Vv6 and AW4 - Ford Taurus electric fans any more?
  14. stop and replace that thing before it leaves you stranded, or worse, causes an accident
  15. ZJ has the same pattern as the MJ
  16. take the d35 out of a ZJ... and waste time welding it to the MJ...
  17. looks in very good shape, congrats
  18. you left something loose, check the ignition switch again
  19. disconnect the EGR, see what happens
  20. for the OP you gonna spend a lot of money on it and in the end it may not be what you want, you may end up hating it for making you waste time, money, effort... but as a jeep aficionado i would say go for it yes but i have realized that some design flaws in an MJ actually come from OVER doing things, there were cheaper and more reliable options, i bet they were high on caffeine...
  21. if you cahnged the lenght and/or size of the pipe you changed its properties too
  22. is the 1990 a renix? if so it will take some work but is doable, HO to HO muste be a piece of cake
