  1. last but not least... at such low temps all cars struggle to start, cover the engine bay at night and or use a block heater...
  2. try some starting fluid, see if it helps, does the engine crank at good speed? the old renix usually needs good cranking RPMs before it starts pulsing the inyectors and spark
  3. unless you are lucky enough to have an AMC 20 rear axle, upgrade a Dana 44 or Chrysler 8.25 97+, either axle will raise your MJ coolness factor a lot swapping an entire toyota drivetrain is difficult and maybe not as good as just upgrading to a 4.0 + AX15+favorite TC and front driveshaft from a wrecked XJ but is your call
  4. tap and screw the sensor. the renix system needs it to prevent the knock, knock is bad for the engine in the long term you know, also your fuel economy will suffer as the knock sensor is used to fine tune the timing
  5. broken knock sensor
  6. i like that column shifter
  7. you won't have 2nd gear
  8. a manual transmission shouldnt generate heat by itself, but the exhaust runs right next to it, it must get it from there... even a aw4 shouldt not heat up that much as you can feel it inside the cabin
  9. i been looking for thick vinil to cut it and use instead of carpet. carpets get dirty quckly, stink and most important, atract and hold moisture that rots the floors, i hate it.for heat insulation you may wrap the exhaust pipe that happens to cross the floor, it´s the only heat source down below
  10. i have been looking for the same thing but in metal
  11. does that vibration is there all the time and becomes worse as you accelerate? if yes then is the angle...
  12. without electronics like diodes, transistors and eve ICs, i don't know how...
  13. without messing with the wiring? you must make your own module... not easy, not worth it...
  14. the TCU doesnt need that many wires... whatever...
  15. i used a drill to make my LPG mixer to Renix TB adapter out of a piece of wood, but aluminum would be the same thing
  16. oh you mean you don't have the wiring and TCU? you can get them at a junkyard...
  17. also why a plastic adapter/spacer? plastic won't last long there, or any material you can 3d print, unless is aluminum or iron... with minimum fabbing skill and tools, you can take an aluminum plate and drill holes
  18. why? the transmission has its own electronics to do the shifting, all you have to do is hook up the tps to the carb linkage, not difficult, oh and the TV cable, which is not difficult either
  19. the alternator is dead, rebuild or replace
  20. some relays have 2 outputs, normally closed and normally open, run 5v through the NC wire and 12v throught the NO wire, by powering the solenoid you can toggle between 5v and 12 v either that i don't get the idea...
  21. wait... metric ton?????
  22. welcome to hell... because to go to heaven you must traverse hell first
  23. oh yeah the overheating issue
