  1. AC Clutch Relay coil side (C241_5) is supplied voltage from the Fuel Pump Relay (FPR). At KEY ON the FPR will time out within 2-3 seconds causing NO VOLTAGE at C241_5 causing NO CONTROL for the AC Clutch Relay. Could be your problem.
  2. OT: Love that vintage six drawer Craftsman's top box. I have the same one and it's still in use. Got mine in the late 60's'.

  4. Disconnect the wire from your Coolant Temperature Switch (CTS) and leave it disconnected. Drive it. If dash lamp still lights, then your problem is NOT with the CTS.

  6. Make sure you're not leaking fuel here during CRANK when everything is hooked up. @54bobby
  7. 88 FSM FYI Check out Water Valve truth table. heater system.pdf
  8. Just enough to see if it stays running. Not much. You could even use a spray can of starting fluid.
  9. No, it would just help prove out that you have a fuel delivery problem if engine tries to stay running.
  10. Check and make sure the fuel is not leaking from this hole. Also, you may have a possible plugged fuel return line. @54bobby
  11. Yea, these switches are ON-AUTO-ON.
  12. These are START/RUN voltages needed for engine running. I'll keep looking, you keep looking, someone else should chime in.
  13. Using a voltmeter or 12vdc testlight (preferred) check for Battery_Voltage_(B+) on the following pins (use battery_negative terminal for ground): D1_5: B+ (Hot at all times) D1_6: At KEY ON only (B+ (Hot for 2-3 seconds)). D2_4: B+ (Hot during KEY ON and Hot during CRANK).
  14. With this wiring setup, dome lights only worked with door switches or from the headlight switch when the dome light was set to either the UP or DOWN position only? You could NOT turn on each dome light individually using the down_middle_up switch, correct?
  15. So, your wired with the PINK wire on one end and the YELLOW wire on the other end. Is this true?? What do you mean by flaky?
  16. @Eagle Thank you for your kind words. I did try to keep it simple, plus I went for the bonus point.
  17. WIN LOSE doesn’t matter too me, as long as my numbers hit for all the football squares I’m in.
  18. Take the Fuel Pump Feed wire and using a SPDT (on-on) switch, connect it to the vehicle Horn wire at the Horn Relay. Both wires are under the dash near the parking brake. When set and IGN SW is in the CRANK position, horns will blow. Horns will also blow, but not as loud (4.0L only) for 2-3 seconds when IGN SW is in the ON position. Vehicle will not START since Fuel Pump is OFF and has no power feed.

  22. You might want to use a simple 12vdc testlamp for trouble shooting this problem. Voltmeters (high impedance) will show/display 12vdc while a testlamp (low impedance) will not light or light dimly.
  23. With Engine Running, fuel pressure should be ≈31psi.
