  1. I'm with you on avoiding car payments. In the past 5 years, I have bought 4 daily drivers for a total of $5,300, sold 2 of those after a year each, got back $800. I still have my '97 ZJ and '89 MJ. No payments, no need for full coverage insurance. That's less than $1,000 per year, plus repairs, which have been minor.
  2. I'd double check the PN for your truck. PN 1P1190 shows to fit '92, not earlier.
  3. Upload pics elsewhere and post the link. I use photobucket, easy to do.
  4. No mention of the MJ or SJ/J-truck. Screw 'em.Agreed. Buddy of mine has a super clean J truck.
  5. I couldn't help but notice that the MJ was not specifically stated in the hierarchy of vehicles and therefore it must be assumed as in the "other" category? Or are we mashing it in with the XJ without specifically saying so? No idea, it was probably written by a mall crawler that has no idea what an MJ is.
  6. On the 91 cherokee I bought it has a 89 Comanche fuel tank. It works but at full tanks it reads half and empty it reads well below empty. So is this because of the reversed polarity? No. Reverse polarity will read full when empty, empty when full.

  8. No, I use GPS until I get the right gear. Speedo is 26% off.
  9. I get 16, running 75-85 a fair amount. 2wd/AX-15/4.0 with 31's all around.
  10. Nope. OReilly Auto Parts has new for $64.99 though.
  11. Photobucket works fine from my cell phone.
  12. Better yet "RENIX Rules!!!" :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: I guess I am one of the lucky ones that has a great running Renix MJ.
  13. only on when you want it on. Compressor needs to be able to cycle or you will have problems with it freezing up.
  14. +1 on checking grounds.
  15. A.C. running non-stop? I would expect problems there.
  16. O'Reilly Auto Parts shows different clutch for '89-'90 than for '91- '92.
  17. I bought a new steel tank on Amazon.
  18. The lower the axle, the greater the angle on the arms. Bolt the wheels on, set the vehicle close to ride height and see what happens.
  19. It will get worse with more lift, due to the increased angle of the arms. Have you bolted your wheels to the axle as mentioned above?
  20. Awesome, if it's as clean as it looks, that is a deal.
  21. Do you have the axle raised to ride height? It looks like you gain clearance as the axle raises up.
  22. One article I read said that silicone brake fluid can't be used with ABS. Seems odd, but worth checking before converting.
  23. Mine has the AX-15 5 speed. I may swap to automatic when I convert it, more suitable for rock crawling. The 5 speed is great for daily driving.
