I think it looks great. Can't wait to settle with the insurance and pick up the XJ donor -

That shouldn't hurt them. Had me stumped -

If you cranked it too much with no power to the coil, plugs may have become fuel fouled. That can sometimes kill a set of plugs. -

Did you check for fire at the coil wire when you had that hooked up? -
Doesn't sound like the tank was new if it's that bad. I replaced my 18 gallon tank with one from Amazon. Appears to be exactly the same as the original. Summit has the grommet for the roll over valves on top of the tank at a good price. If you were close to Oklahoma, I'd offer you my old tank. It wasn't as bad as I expected.

Since you're not getting power to the white wire, have you checked the 40 amp fuse for the ignition? -

Just a thought... how does the engine sound while cranking it over? -

No, you replaced the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) on the bell housing, not the cam sensor. The cam sensor is in the distributor and it's sometimes called the distributor pickup or sync sensor like I mentioned previously. I had one go bad in my 91 causing the same no-start symptoms you have and it didn't throw a code. The earlier (96 and below) cam sensors look like the below, but am not sure about the 98's. It may be under the distributor for these vehicles and needs to be indexed. I've had the wires break where they enter the distributor. You couldn't see it, but wiggling the wires while someone cranks the engine over would let it start. -

It's never failed me, as long as the switch is cycled exactly as specified. -

You shouldn't need a tool to pull codes. Should be able to get them by cycling the ignition switch. Did that on my '93 XJ and '97 ZJ. -
HVAC Blower slows down when climbing low/high rpm

Following... Same issue on my '89, except I think the blower may remain blowing the same, but switches to defrost, which changes the sound. Almost 100% positive we're both dealing with a vaccum issue. -

You'd be jealous if he had ordered that stuff in chrome. :dunce: If you saw my motorcycle, you'd retract that. -

There is a lot about that truck I don't like... Grill guard, visor, color... I am liking the flares though. -

This appears to have XJ flares. Seam is visible, but not bad. They are designed to have the fenders trimmed on an XJ. Maybe they trim enough? -
Anyone ever use 4 dr XJ Bushwacker flares? Wondering how they would look with the seam on the rear. The '88 XJ I am getting comes with a set already installed.

I hate tapatalk as much as I hate the Facebook app. I use mobile web version of both. The link above worked for me.

If it's drilled out, should be able to turn it to start the truck.
-
Well, they are totaling the truck. I will be able to retain it for a reasonable cost. As soon as they pay off, I'll start the repairs, with 4x4 swap to follow.

Have someone crank it while you wiggle the harness at the PCM. If it starts, cracked circuit board inside the PCM. -
Correct. That wire on the distribution block is for the brake system warning light. When one circuit (front or rear) loses pressure, there's a shuttle valve that slides inside the distribution block to close that switch. The reset procedure is to stomp on the brakes HARD and sharply a couple of times to reset the shuttle valve to the center position.I had to set my parking brake to get mine to reset. Took 1 good stomp on the brakes to do it. Never would reset until I did that.

Interesting, I had no idea. Thanks for the link. No problem. That was my first time to ever try it. No leaks at all since I did it. -
