  1. Not legally. Best way is to remove the dash pad from the metal part of the dash, that has the VIN tag, and swap it. That's legal.
  2. That top cluster is from a '91 and up XJ. Not sure if a '90 is the same or not.
  3. Two pics sent to ComancheClub@hotmail.com
  4. I can email you a couple but not post one in the forum
  5. Been there. Done that. Make sure you've got yer @$$ covered B4 jumping tho. Do you have a talent or skill that is marketable to the public ? Or is it specific to your job? Can you start your new business up and work it while still keeping your job until you get income coming in? Have you done any research into the demand for your skill in your area? Do you have the fortitude to keep plugging away when the going gets tough? Or do you just fold and say to hell with it.? What ever you decide, GOOD LUCK!
  6. Masochists?
  7. Good advice, on all of the above. Just tape them up out of the way.
  8. Check the size of your old clutch and replace it with the same size.
  9. Why not just cut and switch the two wires by the tank?
  10. In my time I've used about every method known to man to heat my water with, Not necessarily in order but , placed a bucket of cold water on a fire or stove, Electric water heater, LPG, natural gas, Kerosene, Coal stove with a water jacket, Solar. Think that covers it. Have always managed to make do with what I had. And sometimes just went 'Stinky".
  11. My DD is my '87 MJ. 2.5, 4spd, 2WD, No AC, No power windows, Bench seat was swapped for a set of buckets. Idiot light cluster swapped for full gauges, OEM radio swapped for AM-FM CD. Does 75 on the highway, Get's 22mpg and I'm happy and satisfied with it. . :MJ 1: .
  12. Just off hand, I would say rear main oil seal.
  13. Now that is one clean looking rig. Congratulations.

    Water Heaters

Swapped out the old gas water heater for a shiny new electric one today. It was still working but it was over 14 years old and the electric Co-op was giving away new ones to get people to swap. Seemed like a good deal to me. Unhooked all the pipes, chimney and stuff, got it outside and carried it the 2 miles to the gulley I use for a trash dump. When I set it down by the edge of the gulley I got to thinking it might have been easier to carry if I had drained it first. So I carried it back up to the house and drained it. Then carried it back to the gulley. I was right. It WAS lighter. Got the electric one all hooked. Must have did it right because it works. Lots of hot water and no leaks, or smoke.
  15. Thats what the bed is for Jim. :D Use the flywheel to drive the rear axle. Use the front pulley to drive the front axle. By jove. I believe we're onto something here.
  16. Ben, Just joined Diesel Bombers. Looks like it has lots of good info. Tnx for turning me onto it.
  17. I am now. Got a Massey Ferguson tractor I thought about using but the weight got me worried. I think it weighs as much as a MJ does. I would really like to find a Mercedes Benz. Can't help but think they could be made to work. Would consider any diesel from an automobile.
  18. Dirty or scratched threads on the block?
  19. The difference between a "Real Automobile Driver" and an appliance operator. . :MJ 1: .
  20. Quite frankly I feel the term " The Most Interesting Man in The World" to be misleading, an exaggeration and inaccurate. Willing to just settle for "The Jeep Guy South of Town" or just Jim.
  21. Sounds like the wrong shock. There is a mounting pin on the spring mount and the frame. The shock fits over these mounting pins so there should only be one hole on each end of the shock.
  22. Is the older but not necessarily the better looking one.
  23. LOL. Good one. Loved it.
  24. Can't understand all the fuss over a door hinge. Ever hear of Duct Tape? :rotfl2:
  25. Has that effect on women
