  1. Many years ago i remember reading something from one of the great men of the time. I think it was John Paine but I don't remember for sure. He said no true Democracy can last for more than 2-300 years and then explained why. In a true Democracy everybody has an even vote. A complete idiot can stand beside a educated person and vote. In time the idiots, welfare moochers out number the educated, working voters and from there it's down hill to Tyranny. This was a free non paid political statement. Sorry Pete.

  4. WORK?
  5. Aw come on fellas. Having gone thru 16 Mj'S I never paid over $500 for any of them. If I find a good '92 that may change. . :MJ 1: .
  6. Both of these statements are of course correct. How ever when some poor slob goes out of a morning expecting to start his vehicle and go to work, or where ever and all he gets is 'click' if that I don't think he really cares much for the 'correct details' as to why. He just knows he's stuck with a dead battery. I still say nit pickin.

  9. Go to the Denver Craigs List. In the search box type in Comanche. Start browsing. If no luck then try Boulder, Same routine. Then try Colorado springs. Same routine. Don't bother with Pueblo. It wasn't there.
  10. There was a couple apps like that for the old win 95 and 98. I think I've still got them around someplace. Haven't seen anything for the newer windows. Gonna have to look now and see how far back compatable they are. Curse you Hitman. May your mouse bite you.
  11. Is the '97 a manual or auto? I've got some but not sure just what interchages on them. Take a look tomorrow and see what's up.
  12. A short in the wiring, or component will draw the battery down. Nit picking.
  13. Back in the good ol' days, sights like that were common. We'd drain the oil. fill the crankcase with kerosene and run it until the rods started knocking.Drain, Refill with oil. Run it for a couple hundred miles, pull the valve cover and check. If it was reasonably clean that was it. If not, then another kerosene treatment. Then that miracle treatment, STP came along and kind of reduced it a little. For now I got to go along with the Seafoam treatment. I've used it and was happy with the results. The biggy to watch for is don't let any globs get in the oil system. It'll clog up the oil gallerys and or any little hole it gets to.
  14. No reg fee. Includes 4% sales tax. The state requires a vehicle stamp for running a truck, or car on propane. Makes up for not paying road tax at the gas pump. Was $75 per year but I think they raised it to $125 per year. I don't worry about it because I fill up from the house tank. This is the cheapest in the state and part of it is because it's a CO-OP.
  15. Boy what a dumb blooper. I have never done anything like that! Anybody believes that, call me about some ocean front property I got in Utah.
  16. Pete, You sound like a fun guy. So when we gonna party?
  17. 1.95 delivered. Home use, cooking and heating. Also running a truck and a back up generator on propane.
  18. When reading stories like those above makes me realize just how lucky I was. The wife not only never said or bugged me about anything I brought home but would get her hands dirty, if needed, helping.
  19. This is the correct procedure.
  20. Unfortunately many of the steering shafts are keyed and the wheel will only go on one way.
  21. There are several ways but the way I prefer is to install a amp meter in one of the battery leads. Check the currant draw. Now go to the fuse panel and start pulling fuses, CB'S. Start with the big ones first. After narrowing it down to a , hopefully, single circuit it's just basic trouble shooting. Normally for a short it's a bad component. If not then the wiring has rubbed against something, wearing thru the insulation. Finding a short, especially an intermittent one can be one of the most frustrating jobs on a vehicle and when found will be so simple you'll wonder why it took so long. Good luck.
  22. Maybe he backed up into that snowdrift behind the MJ and he's still sitting there, stuck.
