  1. SMC=Superior muscle control. Example; Holding a M1911 with full clip at arms length for one minute with no visible movement. Also applies to photographic equipment.FTW? Fix the waver? :thwak:
  2. Unless you've got superior muscle control you really need a tripod for good macro shots.
  3. There's a possibility that the cam assembly behind the lock cylinder is screwed up. If one of the teeth broke off it could be jamming the works. Remove the cover and inspect it.
  4. Swap in the '95 YJ
  5. In my opinion the best way would be to attach a wire to the ground connector on the tank and run up to the ground connection on the left front fender.
  6. Another thought I'm sure your familiar with. Put a hose clamp on the drive shaft. Use 2 if necessary. Rotate them trying to find a smooth spot. I like to know what the problem is and not just throw money at it.
  7. Is there a hoist of some kind around there you could use to raise the Jeep and put a strobe on the drive train? Just a thought.
  8. My GF got a '07 Dodge 1500 with them big a*sed 20 inch extra wide rims on it. They sure are pretty but next to useless on this road. Several times they have gone flat and when I busted the tire off the rim I found hand fulls of mud in side the tire. Where going thru a mud hole the mud would push the side wall off the rim, get inside and hold the tire off the rim enough for a slow leak. Then when hitting the pavement it would vibrate and shimmy sometimes mild, sometimes violently until the crud finally got slung off the rims. Now she parks it when the roads are bad and drives my lowly XJ.
  9. I didn't say they smelled. I just suggested they may be dirty. :rotf:
  10. Run it thru the car wash, or get out the hose and brush first. A little crud on the wheels can do that.
  11. I clicked on the link and received a message saying I was not authorized to view that topic. What gives?
  12. Just 2 examples of what can be done with a rattle can. '74 Honda, 750, Candy Apple Red 1965 Tempest, Parked it under the cloths line with a couple tarps thrown over the lines for a paint booth. It can be done. Prep and careful application.
  13. A couple months ago I had the same situation. First removed the carpeting. Removed the fuses,Flashers and CB'S. Sprayed the bejesuz on everything, with 409.scrubbed the panel with a hand scrub brush. Let sit about 10 minutes. Ran a hose direct from the hot water heater and flushed, washed, rinsed everything.Bailed out the water and let dry. It's only been a couple months so not sure what the long term results will be but it seems to have cleaned everything up very nicely.
  14. One day out of curiosity I took one of the unused plugs from under the dash and stuck it out the window facing forward. I picked up 8mph on the top end and gained 3mpg on mileage. I figure it was the wind pressure pushing electrons thru the wire faster.
  15. There hasn't been a MJ parking brake assembly available for years, After market or OEM.
  16. The long white thing(switch) is the stop light sw. Mounts by the brake pedal.
  17. Put a little oil on the shaft first? And before ya screw something up remember. Something going on hard is going to be even harder coming off.
  18. Maybe cut the needed piece from the matching area of an XJ ?
  19. Welcome back, Ya'all :wavey:
  20. It doesn't make any difference what you get, if you don't know how to use it, it ain't gonna work. In 1952 I bought a Craftsman 225 Amp buzz box for $79.95. On sale, hood, pick hammer, leads and a 5lb box of 5/32 6013 included. I have a Millermatic wire feed and a Lincoln Ranger LN8. I still have that Craftsman and I probably do 95% of my welding with it. A couple years ago I got a HF wire feed. It was worth exactly what I paid for it. With a little practice and getting used to it a fella could turn out some acceptable welds. I gave it to a kid that comes around and helps me. A craftsman is no better than his tools and and a tool is no better than the man using it.
  21. A fella I knew in Raton was racing midgets. He was using a 2.5 engine in one of his cars. He completely removed the intake manifold and had 4 carbs from a Honda motorcycle bolted direct to the head. Something to think about. Jim
  22. Cherokee dash will swap right in. Won't be easy but is doable. Actually is more time consuming than hard.
  23. Hope this helps. If you need anything else let me know. This is the '85. It was cleaner than the '84. Jim Image Not Found Image Not Found
  24. Make sure the socket is hot.
  25. If somebody doesn't beat me to it I can have one for you in the morn.
