Getting behind someone going 10-25 mph under the speed limit. Then when you pull out to pass they speed up. Being behind some one and watch them pitch a weeks worth of MacD's trash out the window.

What is time worth to you? I'd just look into another door or a new skin. Either choice is way less time consuming. Fender is repairable for sure. I'm retired. I do things to be doing them. Not because I have to. I have 4 doors and fenders , same color that will swap right up and take less than a couple hours to do it. I would still remove the door, place it on the bench and spend a week working it out rather than swap. I realize not every body is in my position. Just stating an opinion, mine. But you did hit the nail on the head. What's your time worth.

Those dents are repairable. Get some one knows what they're doing and not a 'hacker'.

They build them that way so when you're traversing a steep slope the axle will be level.

another pressure bottle post...
jimoshel replied to Blue88Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's normal. While the engine is running the coolant flows thru the radiator which cools it. When the engine is shut off the coolant picks up residual heat from the engine and expands. What is not normal is it leaking from the bottle. Either you had over filled it or you have a bad pressure cap ( gasket). -
Remove the switch, the one the wire goes into, on the steering column and inspect it. See if anything is broke or loose on it. If there is, replace it. If it's OK, then put it back and adjust it. There are two screws holding it and the holes are slotted for adjustment. Might try adjusting first before removing.

It's a b*tch when you lay a tool down to wipe the sweat out of your eyes and when you go to pick it up again it's to hot to hold. Rattlesnake crossed the yard this morning. He was carrying two canteens on a pistol belt. Saw a coyote chasing a rabbit. They were both walking. Chickens are laying hard boiled eggs. Stuck a cigar in my mouth. It was already lit. Had a BBQ, didn't light the grill. Just left the meat in the sun for 5 minutes. Turned the hose on to irrigate. Nothing but steam came out. Supposed to be hot tomorrow.

Considering the source,,,,letting it slide.

A properly functioning MJ cooling system is capable of cooling the engine in any situation. You have a problem with something in the system. Find it and fix it. Don't go using a 'Presidential solution' on it.

I look in my junk box, storage bin and see what I have. If I have a identical fuseable link I use it. If I don't have a FL and I have a inline fuse holder, I use it. If I don't have either one I go the auto emporium and get FL repair kit.

Maybe next time. If that had been a real bumper on the Dodge instead of a purty, it wouldn't have got hurt. No problem. Got more A little bent Hey fellas. Have a cold one and think of me.

88 4.0 desperate need of help

Model T's running with gravity feed fuel systems didn't have that problem. Progress. -
$3.45 for 85. $3.54 for 87. $2.47 for Ethenal.

I have never done this nor do I suggest any one else do it. This IS just a 'What If' question isn't it? Remove the dash padding. Cut out the old tag about 2 inches all around. replace tags. Weld the replacement tag in place, using minimal heat, Wire feed or even solder. Replace dash mat. Don't forget there is another tag under the hood. Either on the firewall, cowling or radiator support.

Removal of trans/TC when engine is not in place
jimoshel replied to AMCJeepMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have taken a 2X4 and after lowering both windows, placed the 2X4 across the sills and used a come-a-long to lower the tranny. Once used a boat winch attached to the 2X. Also by leaving the cross member attached it gives you something to grab to help stabilize everything. -
There were three different sizes available and they were all interchangeable.

has anybody see anything like this?
jimoshel replied to 99Manche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As far as I'm concerned the guy just doesn't know what he;s talking about. In 1970 the trucks were labeled J100 and J200. I bought a new J100 that year. In 1975 they were labeled J10 and J20. Not sure what year they changed, Jeep never made anything bigger than a 1 ton for the civilian market. I just can't see a 4.0 being stroked and bored to achieve 348 CI. -
Checked search with no results. '89 XJ, MJ, Will a 231 trans case swap between a standard and auto trans?

Potentiometer and Gas Gauge questions...
jimoshel replied to Zenobian_84's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No reason why it wouldn't work. All you need is to know the rpm's of the engine. Before I got myself a tach I would get engine rpm by holding my knuckle into the fan blade and count the number of times it got whacked in one minute. Divide by 4 for a 4 bladed fan.
