Need help with tire sizes...
jimoshel replied to aquiring93's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hum? ROAR is more like it. I tried them once -- unbearable. That's what 1200 watt amplifiers and 48 inch speakers are for. And the portable generator mounted in the bed. -
I'm replacing the brake pads on the GF '06 Dodge 1500. Not sure, Should I go with semi-metallic or ceramic? Not worried about price, just reliability and performance. Inquiring minds want to know.

After 3 years of Iraq, I don't do guns anymore, she's all yours my friend! Ever come by this way, drop in. A little BS, couple drinks, who knows. You just might leave with a bed liner.

I am very skimpy on my security system. 12 gauge shotgun, .41 Ruger Magnum and a 1927 Thompson, fully functional. Good luck, I quit shooting when, if, you can reach the street. If you C#*@ the shotgun there's a 99.9% chance you'll never pull the trigger if they are within earshot. Besides then you get a show and less mess. Edit: So C#*@ is censored, eh? Sweet deal. :shake: However, I really like the look of that roll bar. It'll look great with matching black bed liner. I would definitely hold on to the drop in BL though just because of what it is. Albeit, it does take up space. Have been hunting since I was 12 years old. Got my first deer, a 4 point buck when I was 13. Completed Army Ranger training in '54, Tour in Korea in '53 with 187 Airborne. Two tours in 'Nam with 101 Airborne, One tour in Nam with 1st Marine Division. Current arsenal consists of over a dozen rifles, 14 handguns and 3 shotguns. The shotgun has a round chambered and only needs the safety moved, I do believe I am familiar with fire arms and how to use them. However your concern was appreciated. Jim

30's, how much fender trim to fit?
jimoshel replied to 1tonMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have a '86 Long box, 4WD with 31:10.50, no lift and they don't rub on anything. I don't trail it, just normal road driving. Don't know if the rims are stock or after market. If I think about it, I'll check tomorrow. Correction; Checked. It has 2" hangers in the rear and 1 1/2 inch spacers on the front coils. Just got to dern many. Can't keep 'em all straight. :thwak: -
That's what I meant. I just didn't know how to spell ambient.

Painted backdrop. Or, I just don't take pics on cloudy days.

I'm not sure on this, sure somebody will correct me if I'm not. There were only two Indian tribes never defeated by the Army and never signed a peace treaty. The Nez Perce of the North West,Washington, Oregon and Idaho, and the seminoles of Florida.

The deed is done. Checking all parts. Looking Good, Nice Fit, No Gap, At this time I would like to thank all the CC members for their comments and encouragement as without them I probably would still be trying to make up my mind as to what course of action I should take. It's really a shame that I noticed a scratch in the paint so I guess I'm just going to have to remove and scrap it. Pity. :jump:

Yes I did. One of the few that I couldn't put down until finished. She is what's called 'Old Line Appaloosa' Direct descendent from Chief Joseph's herd. The US Army killed most of the Appaloossa's in a their effort to conquer Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce who bred them and thought they were good medicine. Any warrior who rode a spotted Appy into battle couldn't be killed by his enemies. Ed probably knows much more about that than I do.

Just read an article that stated the AX4 was the only factory installed manual transmission for the Comanche. It also stated the AW4 was never an option for the MJ. I find that hard to believe. Any comments?
-
Got me a factory original roll bar for a short box MJ today. When I tried to install it, it became very obvious that it won't fit with a bed liner. The way I see it, I have 3 options. Cut holes in the bed liner, not likely. Remove the bed liner and install the roll bar. Leave the bed liner and forget the roll bar. Geeez I hate having to make decisions.

And other CC members. This is just a idea and I'm tossing it out to see what others think. You're doing a terrific job with the 'Comanche of The Month' selection. How about a 'Comanche of The Year'. At the end of the year CC members vote on their favorite Comanche from the 12 Comanche of The Month group. You can either make the Comanche with the most votes the Comanche of The Year, or pick the 2 top vote getters for a final vote. Just a thought. Jim

Yes she is. You are aware, aren't you, that horses eat more than Jeeps. And unlike Jeeps, they need fed whether you ride them or not. HeHe, In just the 3 days I've had her you can see the difference. When they unloaded her off the trailer she was scared to death of people. I couldn't approach her or make a sudden move around her. The biggest problem I'm going to have is getting her trust. I can now walk , slowly, while talking, up to her and scratch her nose. A pocket full off carrots and apples helps. She sees the other horses come running up when I whistle. That helps. It's obvious she likes people and wants them to like her. I would just love to take a bull whip to the AH who had her. She is a beautiful, sweet animal and I think she is going to make a great saddle horse. I have been thinking about starting a equine therapy program for disadvantaged kids and disabled adults. Biggest problem there is I'm to far out in the country. I would have to bring the horses into town. We'll see. As you can tell by the pics, all my other horses are scared to death of me.

All the fog lights I've seen had clear or yellow lens. Never saw an Amber. I'm sure there are enough of them out there that it's safe to say I haven't seen them all. Check the state law on lights.

Delivered her Fri. Animal rescue. Was severely abused by PO and removed by court order. I was only one applied so I got her.

I couldn't find a '87 with a ballast resistor. From '84 to '89 the plugs are the same, that is they will interchange. Don't know about the pins having the same function tho.

Fl, Co any state the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut and don't say anything. You can always call the DMV and ask any questions anonymously but don't just walk up to the desk with title in hand asking questions. My personal opinion. Hopefully some one from Fl who knows will give you a knowledgeable reply.

Are a/c parts the same on 6 cyl and 4cyl MJ's?
jimoshel replied to bighause's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just looked at 6-7 set ups. The earliest was a '84XJ 2.5. The latest was a '98XJ 4.0. All the blocks have the same mounting holes, pattern. So any AC mount from these years will bolt up to any engine from these years. The compressors were different between years, not engines. Somewhere between '89 and '93 they changed the set up where the hoses from the compressor and evaporator hooks into the condenser by the firewall. Another difference was between the 4 and 6 cyl was the fan. 6 cyl had a mount for the fan pulley. The 4 cyl didn't. If you have a complete donor vehicle, I see know reason why you can't do a successful swap, regardless of the engine. I would suggest staying with Renix-HO whichever you have. I believe they can be swapped between Renix-HO but would be simpler if you didn't. Hope this helps. Jim -
There is a local group of thespians who get together and put on melodramas whenever they get the chance. This is where the audience participates with much booing, hissing, cheering and an occasional ribald remark or two. The play last nite was 'The perfumed badge of deadwood Gulch. They were short a actor and after much coaxing, begging, pleading and a threat or two, they talked me into playing the villian, Dirty Dick Vermin, the most despicable low life to ever trod the streets of Deadwood Gulch. Accused of kicking a dog, stealing the poor box from the church and making a little girl cry while stealing her candy. I was told several times that I fit the part perfectly. I wonder how they meant that. Anyway got arrested by the sheriff, Buxom Dora Dooby for spitting on the sidewalk and thrown in jail. Made my escape by seducing the sheriff. The acting was terrible, the sets were makeshift, the enthusiasm was unparalleled and everybody had a blast. Wonder if there is something wrong with the phone. Hollywood hasn't called yet. :clapping:
