  1. Went to the site and checked it out. Found it to be inaccurate and misleading in several respects. One example. I typed in the part number for a screw on filter. It came back with a pic and information for a canister re fill filter. Another example. Typed in the filter no and looked to see what would swap. It did not show all possible swaps. Otherwise it is interesting and informative.
  2. I don't think it would be all that practical for me to start selling them. I'm only 16 and school just started again so that keeps me pretty buisy, along with the MJ. If enough people really wanted me to make them I would think about it, but I don't think that many people would actually want them. I'm more than willing to share measurements and what not with everyone though. Pic of the lock, Just cause: Image Not Found Thanks for the interest I was 14 and in school when I started my first business. I was buying Army surplus Ford flat head V8'S for $50 and 24VDC, 200Amp aircraft generators for $20 and building welders out of them. I sold the finished units for $100 each. Gave me spending money for school and helped me buy my first car, a 1938 Buick 4DR convertable for the princely sum of $40. The guy was asking $45 but he couldn't get it to start so he knocked $5 off.
  3. I'll go $400 without even seeing it. If I was selling at least $600. Knowing where it's at and pics would help set a price.
  4. The only thing difficult is removing the old joints. If there is a auto parts store near you maybe they have the tool for loan. It looks like a C clamp. The factory service manual is the best reference but both Haynes and Chilton show the procedure. I have taken a bolt, or pin that fit in the hole and hammered them out. Same thing driving the new one in.
  5. Haven't had any GOOD shine since I broke up with my GF in West Va. Denver isn't that far.
  6. 84-85 XJ did. But you can pretty much forget about finding one. Maybe Don found two and will share with ya. Don. Still lookin. J
  7. Off with the old. On with the new. Looks much nicer. My opinion. Also note; license plate is now screwed, not wired. Finito.
  8. Seems like a lot of trouble as compared to just walking into a liquor store. But then again, there is that 'did it myself' mystic.
  9. The rust free bod is a valid reason for not driving in the winter. The 2wd excuse isn't. When people drive 2wd they are more careful and don't push it. When they drive 4wd they have a "I can drive any way I want' attitude and barge down the road like a brain dead idiot. When I drove truck from Pueblo to Denver after every snow storm their would be 3 4wd vehicles lying upside in the ditch for every one 2wd still upright but slid off the road. A 2wd truck with chains and a knowledgeable driver will go more places than a 4wd with a idiot behind the wheel.
  10. Removed the bent front bumper. Now trying to make up my mind whether to replace it with another common black MJ bumper or a shiny chrome one with guards and lights from a XJ.
  11. A RESOUNDING NO! Don't buy it. Just tell me where it's at.
  12. perhaps there is a change but you just can't sense it. A 5 HP gain on a 116HP engine is less than 5%. Instrumentation will detect it. A human body won't, unless it's really sensitive.
  13. Got away with 'assed'? What kind of a filter you runnin here?
  14. Forget the carpet. Try having sex in front of the fire and have a ember land on your bare assed butt! An she thought it was her.
  15. Leaks so much oil an grease that it just slips an slides over everything.
  16. He has a 2.5L. It is NOT pressurized. Move it anywhere you want, and use whatever size will fit. Good golly gee whiz. Been working on my '87 2.5 all day and I never even caught that. 2.5's ARE NOT pressurized. Unless you seal the hood shut.
  17. Find another parts store. They are available up to 4 Inch diameter.
  18. -Go to discount fuel systems online, or call -877-266-9052. Part number 52000623. $28
  19. They have universal gas replacement hose at the auto parts. It's straight, no bends. Comes in 3ft lengths but they will cut it to what length you need. Can make a shallow bend but a sharp one will kink it. Get a angle joint at a plumbing supply.
  20. It is pressurized. You can move it but unless you convert to a open system, you can't remove it.
  21. Picked up a dozen MoPar oil filters at a Jeep dealer sale the other day. 12 Filters for $6. I think it's safe to assume Chrysler doesn't make their own filters and these are Wix, Purolator Fram or something. Looked at the box and filter and couldn't find a clue as to manufacturer. Any thoughts on the subject? Or idea as to who made them? :dunno:
  22. Swap ya a bed liner for it.
  23. Stuck it in a gully East of town. Was out 'just driven around' when I went into a gully about 2ft deep by 3ft across. Saw the gully but couldn't stop or turn in time.Buried, and bent, the right front bumper back into the tire. It was my 2wd '87. After digging and burning rubber for 3 hours realized it was hopeless and started walking the 10-15 miles back to the house to get "Goldie" the '77 J20. Hadn't gone a mile when a guy showed up in his Jacked up Chevy. He was probably the second person to drive out there in 6 months, me being the first. Backed up to it, hooked up a chain and one big yank and was out. We started talking and he mentioned he needed a radiator for his daughters' '89XJ. The radiator's sitting on the steps waiting for him to come get it, Gratis. :wavey:
