  1. Crap in torque converters gets caught up between the vanes, thereby reducing slippage which makes the converter more efficient thus getting better mileage. Or is that the other way around? :huh???: :rotfl2:
  2. I entered my 5cc Barely Davidson in a endurance race once. Was going for the record. Showed up at the track with a 1000 Gallon tank on a trailer behind the bike. They wouldn't let me run. Seems trailers ain't allowed. Trying to find a set of bike tires that can support the wt of a 1000 gal tank mounted on the handle bars and gonna try again. :D :shake: And that's a darn good lookin machine you got there. :clapping:
  3. Fooled me. I didn't think it would even get as far as the ocean. Felt sure it would melt down on the pad. What I don't understand is why they made such a big fuss over it before they lit the fuse. With the oriental emphasis on face, saving and losing, you would think they would keep it quiet until they actually fired one successfully. You can bet there's going to be some heads rolling now.
  4. Any body here ever heard of Perry Como or Bing Crosby? Andy williams?
  5. Is the toaster, oven a micro wave type or a heating element type? If it's microwave it will never brown. They don't work that way. If it's heating element it should brown. If it doesn't, somethings wrong.
  6. Sounds like maybe an electrical problem. Not fuel. Squirt some starting fluid into the air intake. If it fires it's fuel delivery. If it doesn't, it's electrical. I had a strange experience like this once. Jeep wouldn't start. Tried everything, nada. all tests were good. Finally gave it the ether try. It fired right off and never had another bit of trouble with it since. :dunno:
  7. Lookin good. Gonna Moto Cross it? :D
  8. Your dads head? Or the vehicles?
  9. Did you check the relief valve on the fuel rail and see if there was gas? With the key on you should get a good spurt. With the key off, it should dribble out until the pressure is relieved.
  10. Go used. $15-$20 as compared to $100 and up. Inspect it for straightness and dents. A little dent, marble size won't hurt anything. Work the U joints checking for smoothness and no rough or sticky feeling.
  11. FINALLY!! A useful meaningful rant about something gawd awful instead of all that moaning, pitiful "woe is me" crap. If I had a toaster that didn't toast properly, it would be in the trash so fast!!!!! :fs1:
  12. :agree: Got that right.
  13. But just think where they would be it were not for our weapons, ships, tanks, aircraft, $$, and, most importantly, training? A herd of sheep surrounded by a pack of wolves without a well armed sheepherder.
  14. LOL, Hey,,I said "Or best offer" :D I figure postage shouldn't be more than a couple bucks so $10 shipped.
  15. Got a good one. Asking $500 OBO.
  16. I blame work. Sure beats being out of work.
  17. Don. I hope you didn't think I was implying that the Israeli's were better than the American's because I wasn't. I meant that their training was on a par with American. I had the privilege of working with a couple of Shayetet troops in Nam in 69-70 along with the 1st Marine Division. They were there to observe a weapons system we were testing. Also I was somewhat honored and surprised when they purchased 12 of the units and specifically asked for me for their 'tech rep' and I wound up working in the Sinai with them for a year. Also when working with the 5th Special Forces out of Ft Bragg they specifically stated their respect for the Shayetet 13, but then they should. They're the ones that trained them. I have never worked with the Navy Seals so I have no personnel experience with them but I do believe they are the most highly trained special unit forces in the world. Ain't got a thing to do with MJ. So how did we get on this? :dunno:
  18. Welcome to the club and the madness. And you are where? :wavey:
  19. American military is the most highly trained military in the world. Possible exception some of the Israeli special forces. The crew probably practiced that maneuver a couple hundred times in the trainer. The second an emergency was detected that training kicked in.
  20. Do you need the whole piece as shown or just the inner one?
  21. My GF flapping her jaw when I didn't do something she asked me to.
  22. SOP in case of imminent crash. Dump the fuel. Fuel was seen being dumped before the crash.
  23. Remove the OP sending unit and stick a mechanical gauge in. See what your actual OP is, Could be a faulty sending unit or gauge, If in fact you do have a high reading then very likely it is the relief spring in the pump.
