  1. He sure lived far out at the end of a dirt road didn't he? Apparently he had a lot of lookers but nobody wanted to go his price. Took me half a day to get it running, mostly flushing out the fuel system, but finally got it running. Ran great. Got a good engine and tranny. I've got the other axle assy's for it in the bed and hopefully this summer I'll have it back original. The axles he put under it, Waggy D44 and D60 are worth a couple hundred but I believe the sloppy welds and generally poor workmanship, plus the price is what scared most people off.
  2. Bummer. Part of the price we pay for the advantages of country living over city life. Hope the eggs hatch out OK.
  3. Jay Leno bought it for his collection.
  4. Someday I got to get organized. Ignore previous message. After sending it I was out going thru the scrap pile,,er,,I mean spare parts bin and found 2 metal gas tank skid plates. :shake: Both off a '86XJ. Also found a MSP for a '89MJ. Probably won't work but If you want one of the XJ plates it's $10 plus shipping. Let me know. Jim
  5. Eagle, There's a fella 40 miles West of me parting out a '97 XJ. Has the metal skid plates for engine, transfer case and gas tank. He wants $300 for all. Just checking to see if you still need a plate and if your interested in shipping that far. I can talk to him and see if maybe I can just get the tank plate. Jim
  6. from 1984 to 1989 XJ or MJ will work. Also they are standard parts. Get the tubing and fittings from a parts store and make your own. If you can't find anything I have one you can have. $25 shipped.

    Location?

Why can't people post their location when running ads? Let a potential buyer/seller know if it's local or require shipping B4 they respond?
  10. I have a couple. Year and location?
  11. What a coincidence. 2 days ago I pulled the complete drivetrain from a 4wd 4.0 '96XJ with plans to swap it into a '87 2wd MJ. Project is on hold for now due to snow. Stay tuned for further developments. I did due a search in the projects section and found lot's of useful info. It's been done several times so we're not breaking new ground. I have the 2 vehicles sitting side by side so I won't be making hurried trips to the JY for parts.:wrench:

    Floor Jacks

Think I got the last couple American made pick axes left, as well as a couple regular picks, axes, shovels cross cut saws, coal scuttles and a ore cart the last time I made the abandoned mine tour around here. :D
  13. I get $150 for a AX15, I also get $150 for BA10, AX 4&5, AW4, 42,44 and 46.
  14. Your right. Craftsman is junk. In 1951 I paid $19.95 for a Craftsman socket set. Last year I had to return the ratchet. It quit working. Before I buy Jap or Chinese I will hit every pawn shop and yard sale around looking for American made, irregardless of brand. :wrench:
  15. The MJ got my vote, Making it leader of the pack with 27%, 26 votes. Actually if I was to get one of them it would be the Grand Wagoneer. I already have a Comanche.

  17. Joke. Anybody care to explain this?
  18. I thought he had just finished the beers B4 he typed the dialogue. Very easy to get your letters confused then. Good score,,,er,,,joke,,,er,,,whatever. :rotf:  :rotf:
  19. Between feeding livestock, working horses, parting out Jeeps, swapping engines, transmissions I just have way to much time on my hands. And yes, that's a CC T shirt I'm wearing. A fellas out trying to launch a kite. It goes up in the air a couple feet and falls back to the ground. His wife is watching from the porch. Pretty soon she hollers "Honey , you need more tail" Exasperated he throws the string holder down on the ground and hollers back. "Will you make up your mind! Last night you told me to go fly a kite." :rotf:
  20. Not sure what the fuel line routing has to do with it but what ever. Remember. You're running a unfused, always hot wire across the engine compartment. If it rubs or chaffs against something, or gets tangled in a spinning fan blade tour going to have a direct short, with the resulting sparks, smoke and possible fire. I would run it across the top of the radiator support and tie it down in a couple places. Wise thing to do would be find a hot when ign is on connection and tie into it. Direct to bat should only be an emergency job to get a disabled vehicle home.
  21. I believe by 'skid plate' you're referring to a metal plate that bolts to the frame. I have 4 ZJ'S and 3 XJ'S. None of them has a metal skid plate. They did have a plastic cover that fit between the tank and the holding straps. It was different and will not interchange.
  22. Run a wire direct from the positive post of the battery to the ballast resistor. Either side. Fasten wire down so it doesn't get tangled in fan blades.
