  1. Could have Sworn I posted on here my affection for the rear leaves and center console...
  2. Hope 4.10s on 42s comes with triplers! Dang, I wish I could afford the shipping for those Alcans.
  3. Link to the swap (but all for TJ, which is the same swap, but the spring perches are located in a different place): http://www.jedi.com/obiwan/jeep/ford88.html http://members.cox.net/rough-riders/tec ... rd8_8.html http://www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/axle/Ford8.8/97.html <-just notes really
  4. I'm liking the center console and those leaf packs! Also the dually rims with a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern! Interesting truck.
  5. My cousin supercharged his '94 Lightning, and after riding in that thing, I wouldn't mind a sport truck. How are the Dodge sport trucks for towing? The GMC Syclone maxed out at 500 lbs in the bed. Pete, I couldn't find the Scorchers on BFG's website. Are they discontinued?
  6. with a 2 bolt main? please explain. dunno what that means  Here is a 4 bolt main: http://www.timgilles.com/photogallery/S ... tplus2.jpg The bearing caps are held on with 4 bolts, versus 2 bolts.
  7. So is that what's going on with your MJ? New frame and such?
  8. Happened on my GMC. A nice day of climbing around the playground with it, and I decide to take the trail home instead of the road. Turning corners going about 15 and I hear a grinding and get out and my hub is set on the center of my wheel with all the studs stripped and a trail of 8 lug nuts behind me. Also the jack I had been carrying turned out to not work, and the P.O.S. Harbor Freight breaker bar fell apart. Suck. I've heard the more often you take off and put on wheels, the more likely the wheel is to not stay on. Thread wear maybe?
  9. Couldn't tell in the pics, but is that 14 a ff?
  10. Be careful building a SBC with a 2 bolt main. Many have I seen no longer.
  11. Yeah, I took the lazy empty-my-wallet path. Engine cost $1600 upfront, and they gave me $400 for my core. The motor was used for almost 20 years, there should be plenty of goods out there to rebuild it. Oh, and someone just rebuilt theres on here. He's the one looking for the injector in the classifieds section.
  12. I think a dark colored dash with a nicely upholstered seat looks spiffy. Never thought about it much. What are you goals?
  13. The YJ motor is prob direct port injection, and I believe yours is throttle body injection. If this is the case, you can still use the block, not sure on the head. I paid 1200 for my long block with a 3 year, 36000 mile warranty, so 1100 isn't bad. I've heard weird things about the Rubi 44. Something like Dana 30 axle shafts with a 44 center section and outers.
  14. I hardly use my Toys clutch, except on idle at a light or such. The tranny falls out of gear easily when it's at the speed the engine wants, and it slides into another gear when it wants. Drive your truck up to 30 maybe and slide the shifter into neutral, now hold it like you're going to puch it into gear (2nd or 3rd probably), and when you hit a certain speed, the shifter will slide into the gear. My first time was magical.
  15. :rotfl2: sorry Did you run out as in had to walk? I've had that happen, and ever since, I carry a gas can in my bed.
  16. Eh, I don't think any of em would be exactly where'd I want to be living for one reason or another. What turns you onto the specific places?
  17. Running all that rubber and that turdy-five still? Looks good, and looks like all your mods have come in handy!
  18. We could all bombard JP...

    update

Clogged injector? Congrats on gettin er goin!
  20. true.
  21. I had the bushing on one end in mind to provide stability, but I understand what you're saying about the joints travelling at equal degrees.
  22. introxxtem, lol, he already struck.
  23. I hope this becomes a thread flow, instead of a thread hijack, but: What do you guys think about the different heims that are out there for link building? Rod ends? And what are the thoughts of a heim on one end, bushing on the other. I'd like to plan out a system for my rear, and I think I'm understanding everything dandily, but the joints, and how wide apart to place the coils (haven't thought about the placement is the actual problem).
  24. Sorry, but I don't think it'll fit MJ frame rails. I've been looking into linking the rear of mine in maybe a year or a lil less, but the gas tank is an issue right now.
