  1. But back to the main question, is high steer in order?
  2. I agree, I think the control arms are pulling the axle back and doing that. As for pictures, only tires I can make out are XTerrains, Baja T/As, and BFG M/Ts. The rest, the tires are blurred.
  3. Cole, are you finally regearing?! Good strong axle. Tell him you'd have to regear it, so you can get away with paying $100.
  4. I've got quite a few pics if you want to see anymore. Just make sure with tires you get something name brand, and don't get anything Interco Tires makes.
  5. I couldn't find any rear mog shots, but while searching I did find a G-Wagon with rear radius arms. I'm not sure if all G-wagons are set-up like this, but apparently wheel hop is a big issue. I hate MJ gas tanks.
  6. Thank you. That all makes much more sense to me. What is a 1 link?
  7. I've been looking into radius arm front ends on MJs, when I came to wondering why I haven't seen, or have looked past, radius arm rear ends. What about radius arms makes them unpopular for a rear suspension design? BTW, I posted this on PBB too, but part of the response from the only person that responded was that Jeeps don't perform well with radius arms in the front, and that seems very contradicting to what I've seen. 8. If a business gave me that type of freedom, I'd even work for Honda!
  9. Part of the key for that (and for the front control arms as well) is to drop the chassis back onto the wheels (or onto jack stands supporting the AXLES, not rhe frame/body) before torquing the nuts. This tightens the bolts with the suspension at its normal ride height, whereas if you torque everything down when the axle is hanging by the bushings, you effectively pre-load the suspension. This is something else I did/didn't do. I put the new shackles on and torqued them up before even putting the wheels on. Thank you. Hopefully after correcting this, it will ride more to my liking. If not, off to the shocks!
  10. It's on the road now. Found a bolt in the driveway of the PO's house and brought the bolt to a tranny shop. The shop then matched the thread pitch and bolt grade and got me 4 new bolts that I ground to length. I will no longer deal with my local dealership as my last dealing with them was the most unfriendly occasion I've had with any business, and my friend's parents own this particular dealership.
  11. So you want to make this truck Look like a prerunner, or you want it to Be a prerunner?
  12. 2 inches of lift is 2 inches. 4 inches longer is 2 inches of lift.
  13. Lol, I calculated it out yesterday. $1500ish for parts, but if you bought used, and realized what parts you don't need, then it'd be cheaper.
  14. Does OME have an official site? I can't find one, just see the parts on quadratec and such.
  15. V8 Grand Cherokee coils will lift it a little, and then take the stock isolators off of Cherokees, Comanches, and Grands, and stack as many as your heart desires to make your own spacers.
  16. Only thing I know about the Khumo is awesome treadlife. A buddy has em on his, BLEH, Suzuki, and loves them on the road.
  17. Only if you're like me and don't box em in!
  18. I think the vacuum leak is what is preventing the 4wd from working cause it doesn't lock in, and the light's on in 2 or 4 wheel mode. So it hasn't busted yet. Think one of my friends nabbed my camera today, frustrating.
  19. My bed's level to an 1/8 of an inch. 4.75" front, 2.25" rear. I've got 3" coils and 1.75" spacers. I replaced my LCAs with the bent adjustable arms, but they still hit my LCA mount allowing the axle to only travel a small amount downward. With different upper arms, I could rotate the axle, rotating the mounts so the LCAs would clear. With my particular experience, I Needed new lower control arms, and Want new uppers. Drop Brackets may be a good route for you to go though.
  20. Just curious where the problem is. Is it the path in which the axle cycles, or does it want to bind, or?
  21. Dash changed in '97 with the redefinition. Atleast a couple guys on NAXJA have done it. This one was unfinished but on CarDomain: Thought I had pics of a finished one...
  22. Basically, he totalled his Cherokee, and transferred all the parts on a Toyota. The fab work is very impressive. Mostly a Toyota frame, except he built new front frame rails to fit the Jeep 4.0L and suspension/axle. Then he put his Jeep rear suspension on the back, a Jeep hood, header panel, and Jeep fenders on. Very original. Has he shown the interior yet? Not sure what he did there.
  23. A Toyota, but still:
  24. i know exactly how u feel my parents own two superduties and everytime i see my truck next to them it looks like its getting smaller 5" of lift and it's the same size as my bro's stock Ranger. Seems like the truck is tiny! Feels smaller inside than my Yota for some reason to.
  25. The camber, yes, but also the axle itself looks physically bent. I'll snap a pic tomorrow after class so you can see or correct me. I have to bring it to a mechanic shop to have them sign a paper verifying that the engine is installed properly. Maybe they can check somehow.
