Sliding rear window?!?! Where is it ??!!!
-
hornbrod was looking into a rear sway bar. Hopefully he'll chime in on anything he found. You also might want to look into rear leaf springs from a metric ton model as they are stiffer.

As Pete said, regear. Just make sure you drop your gears deep. You're limited to 4.88s, because that's as low as you can go with your front axle. And as Cole said, REGEAR.

Wow, that console looks nicer than I remember. Definitely don't leave it without some sort of traction though. I almost fell out of one of my trucks tonight cause the floor got icey. On the other hand, you're in TX...

4.75" of lift and my 31" ProComp XTerrains hit the front of the fenders, so I'm trimming that. Once that's trimmed, I'll need to trim up top a little, then I'll bumpstop some. Kind of depends on your shock setup, bumpstops, and willingness to trim, but if I were to put 33s on my truck, I'd lift it another inch, to 5.5 or 6". Front lift kits are available through Everyone, since the parts are the same as an XJ, and as far as rear kits, you can do add-a-leaf, shackles, go spring over axle, or combine all of em.

35s? Like the long/radius arms.

I have all the steel for mine laying in the garage. 2x5x3/16 as well, just like JCR's Stage 4 is what I'm doing. How easily did the metal bend? I was thinking slit it, prop it in a fixed manner and drive on it.

Mine lasted till 174, but the I know the last 2 owners and they beat the truck like eggs for a cake.

Cold air intake, bored out throttle body, different injectors, cam, header, high flow cat, muff, HO intake manifold, electric fans. Anything else I didn't think of?

I vote V-8. A: If you want to get a Direct Port Injected 2.5, you'll probably have to find a donor. B: Same thing as with the 2.5. It'd be just as difficult and you'd have to swap the same things plus motor mounts. C: If you could get ahold of one, it'd be great, but $$ and effort would be up there. D: The easiest engine swap, I do believe, is to drop a carbed v-8 in. You connect about 3 wires and the engine runs. Also this is cheap. I don't imagine too many parts breaking, except maybe the 44 you're putting in, and some front axle parts. That's the way I see it, but any option would be a good one IMO.

Sweet AMC/Jeep badge. If there was a good place to put one, I'd have one.

Have you tried this? I've got a set of 32x32s laying around.

You have the coolest off-road PU - want the coolest on-road?

That thing's BIG! I can definitely see the Dodge outhandling the Lightning, Syclone, and Dakota R/T, being so wide. -
4wd MJ leafs vs. 2wd MJ leafs vs. Explorer leafs
feerocknok replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've got Dakota packs on my Toy. SUA stock, I believe about 54 or 56" long, and 2.5" wide. I have the third leaf and overload pulled with looong shackles and the springs are still Way stiff. (The truck is lighter than our MJs though.) They are the right width though, and would work to bastardize with. -
Pete, what sort of length difference are there that stop someone from using the Explorer packs alone? One of the pictures on my computer looks like it's possible to redrill the shackle mount forward an inch or backwards and inch and a half and still be safe.

Bling bling! Truck's comin together in an awesome manner,

hardly tech.... replacement interior lights?
feerocknok replied to BrettM's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The PO wired bulbs by the kick panels held in nicely with zip ties. They light up well, but I need them to not come on from time to time. -

Until they come out with a new Lightning though, the Dodge is the only sport truck out (that I know of). -

Bringing back this thread as to not hijack the rearview mirror thread currently going. Does anyone have any ideas on how to wire a switch so that my lights Don't come on when I open the doors, but I can flip the switch and have them come on again? Was thinking of wiring it off the fuse box. -
My 2.5L has press bent 2.5" exhuast :hmm: . I don't see with keeping a cat and good driving habits there being an issue with mandrel bent cat-back, or muffler-back exhaust.

Does this replace that Plymouth (or Dodge or Chrylser, don't remember)? Very nice, and classy.

And 5 on 4.5 dually rims :brows:
