Thanks for the write up, jeepthing! Yeah, there are many chunks missing, and the wind blows harder than the heater, so I'll have to replace it. Don't know that I'll do the 97+ stuff, since my friendly can't close her door as it is.

The weather stripping on my doors is destroyed and causes quite a draft in the cab, but I'm not sure where to get replacement stripping, if it goes by a different name, or if it's universal. Any help?

Can new people still sign up when you're gone through Eagle?

I was thinking to myself, no one in Ohio has glass! Then I realized you were from AZ. It's all personal opinion, and on a normal truck, I'd say go redefined, but I think glass looks best on the older front end.

My father and I are not quite done with our restomod, but I'm driving it now. There wasn't a part I couldn't get one way or another, and I had to replace 95% of all parts in the drivetrain. I got parts through the parts houses, members of the forum, the junkyard and the dealership, as well as a little fab work. Granted, it's not yet complete, but what is left is easy to come by or work through. And, I'm not certain on everyone else, but people compliment mine all the time, even with its mediocre body.

Chryco 8.25 vs. Ford 8.8
feerocknok replied to ChiefJosh's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
With a 2.5L on the street. That's what I was thinking, plus a slush box. -
This spam prevention thing is beautiful. Our only unlocked forum is getting littered, but everything else is perfectly clean. Thanks, Pete!

Page 9 says Maaco wanted $1500 to paint it...

If your pocket can take the hit, look into some drop brackets for your control arms. Keeping the control arms as close to level with the road as possible will really help the ride.
-
With new control arms to adjust the caster the lift will destroy, and an alignment to save your tires from the toe in, everything'll be fine.

Put a BF flathead screwdriver against the lil box that holds both switches and hit it with a hammer. It pops through the dash and you can pull the switch out easily. I do it in the junkyard whenever I need a switch.

:dunno: I like the poison spyder style more (tubular), but they only make em for Wranglers and CJs. Slick Rock Gear: Poison Spyder:

3.5" RE Lift on the way ... ?? 2" rear shackles ?
feerocknok replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
8.75 - 4.5 = 4.25 4.25 / 2 = 2.125 inches of lift. -
I'm always lost as to if the V6s had 904s or 999s, but both are power robbers. Should be 4.10 gears If the 228 was popular in FSJ then there might be a kit to lock that center differential. Try and grab a front axle from the JY to swap that guy out.

Wow, everyone already said what I was thinking. Your car sounds too nice to trade for a v6 Cherokee with a busted TC.

Not much motor work done yet. Mainly just replaced gaskets and cleaned up stuff. New vacuum harnesses and an ACCEL power tuner kit. She's getting a new exhaust hopefully tomorrow. I have dreams of putting a HEMI or at least a 350 someday. :D I like my 20 mpg but wouldn't mind that kind of power. Did you ever get a cargo light?

Any fuel injection experts? New Comanche guy here
feerocknok replied to dotis's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've never heard of this. Can you explain? I figured one of those ohm/amp dealies would do it. -
How do you get the lower control arms back ON?
feerocknok replied to JohnQ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's the way! First picture I've ever seen of it, and it's not easy to describe in words. -
Paint is a must with that new front end. I noticed the blue valve cover, is it just replaced, or is there motor work done? I really like the truck with the nice interior, new front end, and kickass wheels.

Disconnect the fuel line behind the throttle body and put it into a gatorade bottle. Turn the key on. If there's gas going into the bottle, it's your injector. If not, it's your pump, filter, or clogged lines. Or no gas... -

Bottle jack and a hardy rubber mallet is what I used, so I didn't destroy anything with a sledge. My adjustable arms were just as difficult to get in place. -
ALTERNATIVE to shackles!! Gain Departure angle!!
feerocknok replied to BARILLMS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No offense met, but I'm not understanding how shackles are hurting departure angle. The leaf springs are what's hanging over the most on any unbobbed vehicle sorry for the crappy truck/picture, but it shows it: The rear end of the leaf spring is what would hit first, and if you want to get the rear of the leaf spring higher, you'll have to do something like put the top shackle mount over the frame. 3/4 elliptical would lower the leaf spring aLot. -
HOW COME NO ONE EVER DOES ANYTHING RIGHT EXCEPT FOR ME??
feerocknok replied to 89MJComanche's topic in The Pub
The last two times I trusted a business were the people that put my motor together, which had a rodknock as soon as it began to run, and the people that installed my stereo and ran the mring for the amp over the valve cover, across the entire engine bay. I don't trust anyone trusted any of my trucks, not even my beaters that I try to destroy. -

Why only issue is how much they are going to make the leaf spring twist. -
No, no, no. Either you misread me or I'm misreading you. I don't buy the cheapest. I buy the next step up (or whatever is above than the Fram if the store I'm in happens to sell them). But I have no problems dumping in the cheapest oil I can find (every 2k miles). :D I suppose I mistyped, as that was what I meant.
