  1. My understanding of a mini-spool is that it's basically just a huge chunk of metal. No brand of mini-spool will break.
  2. what u don't enjoy the sound of rattling plastic The cracks in my dash are expanding and starting to rattle, and my rear window is a slider, with the left pane being plexiglass, and that rattles like a hoofer. CW, do you think you'd be against the sound of 4x6s or 6x9s in the doors? I know you said your TJ had em in the dash, but they should sound great in the door of a pickup. New rams are set-up like this, and sound awesome too.
  3. My Set-up: I personally love the sound of 6x9s and run em in my doors. I also love the sound of a nice hitting sub (not a ricer thudd, but a clean pump pump pump), so I've got a 12 behind the seat. The 6x9s are JBLs and the only speaker I found that was nicer was the the Infinity model which was a little lacking in the highs for me. The speakers need an amp though for their full potential, as my deck just can't put out the power. The sub's an MTX and works great for a pick-up, but my demands call for a second. Running a sub behind the seat says goodbye to interior storage space.
  4. WJs are dual piston, right?
  5. Kelly Blue Book says that the Cherokee's a mid-size, but that the Comanche's a 'small pickup'. I as well think against the Ford seat. I think the MJ has the second tallest tranny tunnel I've ever seen, second only to the Hummer.
  6. I'm pretty certain that the 2.8L is a 60 degree motor and the 4.3L is a 90 degree motor. The 4.3L is the V-8 minus 2 cylinders, and the 2.8 is not.
  7. So it basically turns them into a Macpherson strut? Welcome back to the forum Cole! :USAflag:
  8. *he, but it's okay, the name throws ppl off on every corner. Most hardcore Jeep guys seem to get angry of a 4.3 swap as well because they feel that the 4.0L > 4.3L!!!1!11! But you wouldn't be swapping a 4.0 in anyways since you have the 4.3 so...
  9. Alcan can do Anything. If you go on their page, they have a sheet you fill out with more numbers to punch in than my mind can handle. They can basically make the springs of your dreams!
  10. Upon reading this I began trying to figure out how you are having a house built with all the Jeeps and such at $5/hr... :dunce: Hope you had goodluck with the interview. What's the field?
  11. http://www.offroaders.com/tech/limited- ... ntials.htm http://classicbroncos.com/forums/archiv ... 86600.html http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showth ... p?p=432312
  12. No doubt the 3.4 would be an easier swap. But it's not gonna put out the power of the 4.3. But the 3.4 has the stick. But the 4.3 has fuel injection. I'd say your choice is really -power- vs. -time to install-.
  13. The proper URL was http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1599/8 ... 468893.jpg I right-clicked on the picture and clicked 'properties' and then copied it. I think Pete uses Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.
  14. I'm pretty sure Toyota 1-ton mirrors would bolt up, but the factory doors have nutcerts (sp?) in them, so you'd have to drill 4 holes in each door, and pull off the interior door panel to get nuts back there.
  15. LMAO!!! This thread got so off topic!!!!! I think this is your best plan right here. Lol, when I first came on the board a year ago, threads used to get off topic like this. Totally forgot.
  16. It's an S-10 Blazer? Yeah, mounts might be weird, and the caster might be off a bit, as the frame dimensions are different, but everything sounds like it'd be there.
  17. I think that's the rustiest MJ I've ever seen!!! Hope you can fix 'er up! What are you looking at for suspension?
  18. The last bracketed thing should have read [/img] not [.jpg]. Sorry to correct the typo. Anyways, yeah, the url should end in .jpg. I found one of of Pete's pictures from PictureTrail and this is what the URL looks like: http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL91/512 ... 251349.jpg And if one was going to put on the other it would look like this: {img}http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL91/512063/4940732/19251349.jpg{/img}
  19. I don't know about the autocross everyone else has, but with our track setups and an slightly tuned vehicle, top speed might be 55. Also, we don't have height restrictions, just a general rule of no 4x4s (as in 4wd suvs and trucks).
  20. To be truthful, my bench won't sit 3 normal ppl. It'll seat 3 small ppl (i.e. me at 5'5", girly friend 5'0", and her friend at 5'1"). 3 ppl that average 5'6" can't do more than hurt while riding around in the truck.
  21. Awhile back someone was selling some lowering springs made by Warn in the classifieds. Don't know if they ever sold. http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2611] They're probably a stiffer rate, but will lower your CoG either way.
  22. There's no real way to get caught, but if God chooses to hate you on that day, I wouldn't be surprised if the truck landed in the impound.
  23. don't do this bro... just as bad as scrapping one.... Eh, it's only the box. If the front end is wrecked or somebody's going truggy, than might as well.
  24. So you'll have about 10" of lift in front and 5" in back? Or are you putting the 4" springs over the axle? What size tires? For 10" of lift, I figure 35s or 36s, which would be my personal thing to go with 5.13s for gears.
  25. Different axle. Kind of like trying to put dana 35 gears in a dana 70.
