  1. Lighters really weren't standard in all Comanches?
  2. That's some sweet long arm suspension, but even nicer coil springs...

I've only been riding my Skyjackers for 3 months, but have beating them really hard and they still go "pheu-pheu" when I hit bumps. I like em so far.
  4. I can not believe you counted all those! Even with the container! I hope your tires come out flawless with all that work. By the way, Adult Swim saves lives, and that's a beautiful crunk glass!
  5. A really long breaker bar. You should be able to throw in an Exploder leaf instead of your second leaf, but (using the data my mind has acquired from Pete's experiment)expect a lil loss in ride height. Perhaps 2 exploder leafs per pack would make up for this, but with that, I would expect a stiffer ride.
  6. I'll give Skyjacker a call on Tuesday and see what they say. Thank you guys for the recommendation.
  7. Are you donoring it out to the new one? Glad you came out alright, cause the truck came out like a pancake.
  8. I really don't think you guys deleted my posts. I was thinking some internet coding thingamajig that goes over the common person's head, but wasn't sure if it was happening to anyone else.
  9. It's just been the hear-say that I've been getting lately. I've heard it on this board probably twice in the past 2 months, and spring rates don't come up often.
  10. Glad to hear everyone'll come out of it okay. Sorry to hear that it happened though. What exactly is messed up with the steering? Hope your "frame"'s alright. Again, glad to hear you're okay.
  11. Does anyone know how to find out the spring rates of coils from different manufacturers without calling every one? I checked RE, Rancho, and Rusty's sites and saw nothing. I know Rusty's uses stiff springs, and my friend's ProComp springs are stiff, but I'm looking for some cushy soft, almost rolling on-road, 5.5"ish lift coils. Any suggestions on that maybe?
  12. That thing's really starting to look beef. Still planning on going with primer grey for awhile? Sorry, I haven't had the chance to finish photochopping it for you. I'll see if I can get to it soon.
  13. Motor gets pulled next weekend. The shop that built the motor needs me to send it to them (200+ miles away) and they'll re-rebuild it and send it back to me, so I'll be Manche-less for about a month  I finally took some lift measurements too. For rear lift: factory height is 9.2" from rear axle to frame my height is 10", so only .8" of lift with 2.25" lift shackles. For front lift: factory height is 17.5" from the center of the front hub to flare my height is 21.75", so 4.25" of lift with 3" coils and 1.75" spacers Here are my rear springs: Time for me to order some new coils and leaf packs! And I got a bumper on the front. Stock (painted), but it'll do for now. I'm quite glad I got the center caps on those wheels as well. Added some flair.
  14. Bigger tires. Might want to look into bumpstops too so your fenders don't get destroyed, but I'm sure you can live without em.
  15. Huh. But do you see the thing that goes around the lip? It goes up up the quarter panel probably 1.5". I hate to try assuming what it is, but it looks nice.
  16. My last job was the most boring job that I could imagine. It was at the junkyard, and my job was to wander the yard, find all the tires spread throughout, and stack them in piles. After that, I was supposed to pick them up with a truck and throw them in a larger stack. I might have set a record by quitting 45 minutes into my first day. I start work tomorrow at Schuck's Auto Supply. They all know me by name in there anyways, and it's not as dirty and I hope less monotonous, so we'll see how that goes.
  17. Does look nice. I never have my magnets when I see any nice ones!
  18. The '02s are torsion bar set-ups, right?
  19. I don't think it's a mod thing. If it is lemme know, but I know a post I made in the age thread disappeared and another from Jared's XJ thread. Is this happening ot anyone else or do I have something set-up wrong? Also, I always check to make sure the post posted before going on to the next thread, so they are there for a bit of time at least.
  20. Pete, do you know what he did on the rear? I can't make out if that's some sort of molding, paint, or something different.
  21. Here's a thread that started a lil bit ago on that: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4593 Most guys that run em are running them for more tire clearance in front, but you can use em in back too. XJ front flares are the same as MJ front flares, BTW.
  22. I can tell you how far a dana axle will run on the highway without gear lube. About 20 miles. then the pinion bearings die. But seriously, who needs a pinion bearing? by die, I mean seize themselves so hard that it stops the truck, and you'll toast the clutch trying to make it move again on the side of the road. having your driveshaft lock up at 40 MPH isn't a pleasant experience. :rotf:
  23. XJ flares, both 2 door and 4 door, are too small to even try and make work on an MJ. It is possible to graft in some sheet metal and get them on there, but then there is less room for tire clearance, and it's just plain ol' alot-a-work.
