  1. The front end gonna come up the same time as the axle swap?
  2. I can tell you how far a dana axle will run on the highway without gear lube. About 20 miles. then the pinion bearings die. But seriously, who needs a pinion bearing?
  3. CW, have you tested those bumpstops yet? I like the design.
  4. Eh, put a container under the diff, unbolt the cover, clean the mounting surface of the cover and diff, apply some permatex, wait a couple minutes, bolt the cover on, add gear oil, and you're good to go. You don't wanna run your axle out of fluid, that's no fun at all.
  5. The TTB arms still have axle shafts in them, so it's not as simple as with a 2wd I-beam set-up with just extending the beams. I'm not real up on the TTB set-ups though as I've never found a good reason to research them. Yeah, if you make/buy the DBs, that'd be a good lil lift for ya!
  6. Time for shock hoops?
  7. Happy Birthday.... me too.. 27 on 4/25 It seems to be a common/awesome day to be born!
  8. Yeah, like jbhill said, that lift'll really @#$% with your camber. For proper drivability, you'll need a full set of drop brackets that drop everything, or just do a body lift.
  9. Not gonna Waggy swap the 3800?
  10. Uh, matched 14s may be hard to do...
  11. Jeepnut, ouch, when'd the rollover happen?
  12. Hmm, I have a clunking as well. Going over a series of bumps it might sound like "cah-cah-doo, cah-cah-cada-cooh." I've got a new track bar, new u-joints, new ball joints, new TREs, new LCAs, and I don't run a sway bar. Maybe I'll check the UCAs...
  13. Holy crap! I thought you were upwards of 24 or 25. 8) It's cause I'm big pimpin, Jeep style. But seriously, I look 12 without facial hair, and when I do grow it, I look 16. I think that's one of the reasons cops always pull me over but never give me tickets.
  14. 19 as of April 25th. What's  ? :D
  15. I've liked those wheels since someone put up a pic of a chopped up new Wrangler on em. Now they always look good to me. I can't find that Wrangler pic... The '06 or '07 that was turned into a pickup.
  16. Yeah...
  17. With 31x10.5s and 3.5" of BS, I'm 1/2" away from the frame in the rear. I think lift height will change the situation as your suspension will cycle differently. I'm at 2".
  18. I won't get into a WalMart debate, but the last time I had them deal with my tires, I was not happy. They charged me for new valve stems but didn't replace them (I had nice steel ones, but wanted rubber so I could use the steel ones for my Jeep), and while they were mounting them, from the lobby I heard loud banging. My "rim was bent," and they were "trying to fix it," with a sledge hammer. Think it was about $10 a tire though.
  19. Manche looks good. Still got your sway bar on?
  20. I watched the video with a couple friends over and we all agreed that the terrain didn't look that difficult, but I guess one would have to see it in person.
  21. What do you call them?
  22. The heater control valve is vacuum actuated, so what you've done would've helped in its workings, but the vacuum portion of things could still be the problem. You can remove the valve from the firewall and if you suck on th vacuum line on the valve, you should hear the valve inside open and close. If you can't get it to function by sucking on it, it may need replacing. I haven't tried it, but you may be able to leave it attached to the firewall, attach a vacuum line onto the valve and suck on the line. That way you won't spill antifreeze everywhere and you'll save a bit of time.
  23. Yeah, the '99 intake manifold is an upgrade. My Cherokee friend has an extra one in case he picks up an older one, because apparently it's quite the upgrade.
  24. I've seen (flat) handles put on the top part of the door before, where you will be plating it in. Don't know how they work, but throwing the idea out there for ya.
  25. Bigger tires without regearing puts more stress on the motor as well. Also, wider tires create more drag. Yeah, go over the basics. If you still have issues, bring it to a mechanic. If the motor is indeed going out, try to find a Cherokee for the cheap that has been wrecked and grab the motor from it. For what it's worth, my I-4 long block was $1200 with a 3 year/36000 mile warranty.
