  1. i put a cell in mine. use an RCI cell with 0-90ohm sending unit (same as stock Renix) and an external pump (p/n E2000). have only been running it for about 5 months but everything is still working great.
  2. very, very nice truck. well done.
  3. yup, axle straps around the tubes.
  4. i agree. mistakes happen, and it is definitely crappy that it happened. I'm assuming they want pics to ensure that it is in fact made wrong before you and they go thru the hassle of sending it back. it seems like they are trying to help, because they could have easily told you to get bent.
  5. i've had an 05 auto civic for the better part of 5 years now and put about 100k miles on it. besides the head gasket failing at 130k, its been a very reliable car. i have consistently gotten 35-38mpg since the day i bought it. i need a daily commuter car since i was putting 150 miles on a day in an MJ. if i had to do it all over agian, i would buy a civic but a manual.
  6. there is a LOT of differences between a 3" and 6" lift. are you ok with cutting fenders or do you want to keep the fenders untouched?
  7. around here (SE Wisconsin), that would be an $800-$1000 XJ,
  8. I agree. I think you are too far commited to mud truck land to make a change to crawler. That whole subframe should be removed in my opinion.
  9. read this... http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/bendin_tube/index.html
  10. was wondering the same thing....

  12. for front and rear?
  13. Care to elaborate Wade? Or is there a writeup elsewhere? elaborate on which part? i didnt really take many pics except for the actual cell mounted in the bed, but can take any pics/explain whatever you want.
  14. I'm running an RCI cell with built in 0-90 ohm sending unit and an external generic fuel pump. its just spliced into the existing harness, very easy to do.
  15. it will help yes, but you are relying on those added leafs to fight a lot of forces so eventually you will start to get spring wrap.
  16. you could just use a stock MJ shackle and be fine. ruffstuff has been a good company to deal with in my personal experience, so thats the route i would go.
  17. This is my rig with 6.5" coils paired with SOA on 2wd leafs and a 1"lift shackle. It was slightly higher in the rear. During acceleration, the leaf pack will want to twist due to the torque. A traction bar mounts from the axle tube to the frame and they prevent that twisting effect. If the packs twist far enough, you will damage them and also run the risk of snapping ujoints.
  18. i went from 4.5" leaf packs SUA to 2wd leaf packs SOA. that being sad, i would NEVER go the 4.5" SUA route again. pretty much everything about it is better. like i previously said, you will notice more axle wrap. i eventually built a traction bar but ran without one for many years. what lift are you going to do for the front?
  19. what kind of information are you looking for? ride quality will be better with SOA and stock leaf packs, however there will be more axle wrap. it depends on what you plan on doing with the jeep.
  20. 1 1/4 is pretty small. Most go with 1 1/2 or 1 3/4.
  21. I remember when I joined the mj project page was only one page long. I will have my 10 year anniversary in April.
  22. Ready for some night wheelin
  23. Forgot to mention mine is a 19gal cell.
