  1. i will try to. plating the unibody is a much needed thing for me to do. its starting to show some rust so i need to help save it. plus i need to tie my cage in better.
  2. Closer than we are haha. Takes a good 8hrs to get there for us. I have a trip planned with NAXJA for the first weekend in March so it'll be done by then. Never have been a winter wheeler. That's always my down time for repairs and mods.
  3. sadly, no. in the near future, I'm ripping everything off the jeep and plating the unibody. also have some other things planned for the winter. i guess i didnt realize/remember how close-ish you are.
  4. damn, i even did a search for it before i posted. i only searched the pub though....
  5. did anyone know these existed? they don't look OEM but the fit/finish might be close enough for someone doing a restoration. http://stores.zmjeeps.com/bed-side-mj-comanche/
  6. Just a little hill climb from the last wheelin trip. That's all the tired Renix had.
  7. I had 4.10s and 33s (with an auto).....get 4.56s. i would but don't want to stick more money into my axles.
  8. i put a cell in mine. use an RCI cell with 0-90ohm sending unit (same as stock Renix) and an external pump (p/n E2000). have only been running it for about 5 months but everything is still working great.
  9. very, very nice truck. well done.
  10. yup, axle straps around the tubes.
  11. i agree. mistakes happen, and it is definitely crappy that it happened. I'm assuming they want pics to ensure that it is in fact made wrong before you and they go thru the hassle of sending it back. it seems like they are trying to help, because they could have easily told you to get bent.
  12. i've had an 05 auto civic for the better part of 5 years now and put about 100k miles on it. besides the head gasket failing at 130k, its been a very reliable car. i have consistently gotten 35-38mpg since the day i bought it. i need a daily commuter car since i was putting 150 miles on a day in an MJ. if i had to do it all over agian, i would buy a civic but a manual.
  13. there is a LOT of differences between a 3" and 6" lift. are you ok with cutting fenders or do you want to keep the fenders untouched?
  14. around here (SE Wisconsin), that would be an $800-$1000 XJ,
  15. I agree. I think you are too far commited to mud truck land to make a change to crawler. That whole subframe should be removed in my opinion.
  16. read this... http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/bendin_tube/index.html
  17. was wondering the same thing....
  18. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atx-e2000
  19. for front and rear?
  20. Care to elaborate Wade? Or is there a writeup elsewhere? elaborate on which part? i didnt really take many pics except for the actual cell mounted in the bed, but can take any pics/explain whatever you want.
  21. I'm running an RCI cell with built in 0-90 ohm sending unit and an external generic fuel pump. its just spliced into the existing harness, very easy to do.
  22. it will help yes, but you are relying on those added leafs to fight a lot of forces so eventually you will start to get spring wrap.
  23. you could just use a stock MJ shackle and be fine. ruffstuff has been a good company to deal with in my personal experience, so thats the route i would go.
