Got the fronts done. All in all they fit well. I prepped the frame and stiffeners with Eastwood weld thru primer. I tried a cheap off the shelf weld thru primer first. don't DO THIS. Created such a dirty weld. Ended up starting over basically because of it. Anyways here are some pics. I used a handheld torch to heat up the old under coating. Made it super easy to just scrape off. Invest in lots of c clamps. There are way more bends in the unibody then I anticipated.
I will. I won't be a good gauge though because I'm gonna have to modify them to fit my needs. They are on sale so it was cheap enough to be a good starting point.
i quit my job back in july, actually a day after my birthday. best decision i have made. I was neck deep in a project with no end in sight and just had enough. granted i had a job offer already so it made the decision slightly easier.
i think the d30 gets a bad wrap. if you build it, it can last. yeah the ball joints and unit bearings will always wear out but big breakage can be limited.
i still would like to know what the OP plans on doing with the truck...
