Got the fronts done. All in all they fit well. I prepped the frame and stiffeners with Eastwood weld thru primer. I tried a cheap off the shelf weld thru primer first. don't DO THIS. Created such a dirty weld. Ended up starting over basically because of it. Anyways here are some pics. I used a handheld torch to heat up the old under coating. Made it super easy to just scrape off. Invest in lots of c clamps. There are way more bends in the unibody then I anticipated.

i'll add... 2dr rear XJ flares do NOT fit the rear of an MJ XJ perch width is NOT the same as an MJ

although i am biased towards red 89 eliminators.... this one is very clean! love it!

they probably say this because they don't want people cutting up the floors to run the kit to get the proper amount of link separation.

I will. I won't be a good gauge though because I'm gonna have to modify them to fit my needs. They are on sale so it was cheap enough to be a good starting point.

Ah so just the factory mounts. I just noticed that it didn't incorporate the steering box bolts.

if you were giving me the money.... i'd pick: 3 2 1 i would much rather have an untouched "fresh" canvas, and number 2 has more usable parts.

12" of lift?! holy crap. you had to of had 6" lift leaf packs in there, which it doesnt look like in the pics.

i quit my job back in july, actually a day after my birthday. best decision i have made. I was neck deep in a project with no end in sight and just had enough. granted i had a job offer already so it made the decision slightly easier.

nobody (that i know of) makes MJ rear tube flares.

i think the d30 gets a bad wrap. if you build it, it can last. yeah the ball joints and unit bearings will always wear out but big breakage can be limited. i still would like to know what the OP plans on doing with the truck...

no way. very easy to setup and you really only need new spring perches and shock mounts.

completely agree. i was very unhappy with my 4.5" SUA leaf packs. ditched those and went SOA with stock 2wd leaf packs and never looked back.

And so it begins. Kinda thinking about making a better bumper to improve approach angle. I'm constantly hitting that thing.

the rear upper shock mount is a stud off the frame. you need a shock that has eyelet bushing on both ends.

i have always like the looks of that game but just can't justify spending money to play it.
