  1. Find a pre '88 S10 and go EFI!
  2. The 4 in the middle isn't a strength rating. The 249 in Grand Cherokees is a weak POS compared to a NP208 or 231
  3. I'd sooner have a dolly with gooseneck
  4. Yes. I have a 290 and AX-15 (don't have the correct flywheel but know where they are available new. Just need to have it balanced to match the motor by Perpetual Balance in Mukilteo.) I also have the '89 MJ I was going to build (it's 4.0L and 2wd. Motor is missing parts because PO installed a '93 HO with HO flexplate and it only backfired)
  5. Knock the dust out of the drums. I've even reversed them. If that's not it, and you have ceramic front brakes, they may not be warmed up at first.
  6. One from a full size jeep isn't much wider than an XJ/MJ one. Just the rims were offset inwards on the smaller Jeeps.
  7. I was planning on using an AMC 290 (or 304) that I have and an AX-15 in the longbox I was planning to extend the cab on. (too bad my body is buggered up and I''ll never get 1/4 of the work done I had planned)
  8. Spring pads need to be moved inboard 1.5" per side and shock mounts added. Pinion angle should be flat unless you have a slip yoke eliminator

    Other Jeeps

I also have a '82 J10 Honcho stepside project (also put up for sale for $1500 because I won't be able to work on anything for quite awhile or even have a job) and an '82 Eagle wagon that is almost done for $2600 (4.2L/727/NP229, onboard air from the factory and an AW4 to go in later as well as 3.08 axles to install) as well as the other MJ I was going make an extended cab from Image Not Found I'll end up with just my '84 J10 project (I have $10K into it) Even my IH's are going away. 10. My friend's 71 (or 68?) Chevy pickup truck has a straight 6. Early 60's and older had 235 and 261 (GMC), then 230 and 292 came out, followed by the 250 in late '67. Chevy Nova also had a 194 '62 to '67 (I've had one or more of just about every Chev 6 made since '50) Last year of production for the inline 6 (250 and 292) was '86 AFAIK.
  11. Actually, I may be selling this one to buy a better condition one. (I'll keep the roll bar and brush guard for the new truck which is missing them)
  12. Nice! I'll pass it to the FSJ guys!
  13. At 6' tall and 300 lbs of ex-military, not many have tried (one who did is now fired, even though I'm not the boss)
  14. There's rumblings that Michael Phelps may lose his medals due to ad photos leaked before the Olympics were over.
  15. I did my own conversion with the parts from a cracked external slave bell. I had to buy a clutch ball insert from the "HELP!" section at the parts store, but it worked like a charm!
  16. High radiation count causing mutations more likely!
  17. I have a D44 from a '66 IH Travelall that has the same bolt pattern as XJ/MJ, but it has 2 piece shafts and is @5" wider. Derr. Got sidetracked! (cross country flying can mess with the mind, especially if you get a sinus infection in the process!) There is an axle tube brace available (goes over the pumpkin) and welding the tubes so they can't pull out of the pumpkin is mandatory, even on FSJs
  18. KPH. Re-paint the face then put in the correct speedo gear to make it match (my stroker powered FSJ is getting that)
  19. [Crocodile Dundee voice] Thet's nawt aye Hawncho! This is! [/voice] :rotf: Actually, I thought about putting one of those Chevy Luv stepside boxes on my MJ.
  20. For those not on a cellphone or mobile viewer:
  21. I found 3 rattlesnakes in the interior of a '66 Pontiac I picked up in the interior of BC, Canada.
  22. '92 to '94 XJ one from Canada should do too. Not RHD
  23. Sweet! I just facebooked it!
  24. I found that a 2wd '66 Travelall has the same bolt pattern and may even bolt directly in but I haven't finished the width check (they came with the wrong wheel offset which would push the tires outwards on an MJ).
  25. How about the first style Jeep four letter word with an FSJ and Rhino grill? ;)
