  1. hmm i dunno.... :dunno: i mean I'm not crazy right? you see what I'm talking about on mine with the gap seam right?
  2. here is a side picture. you can see your spacers you included up top. and the bumper bracket in between the two, and the washers i had to put to keep the hitch plate even along the frame and perch
  3. Does yours mount to the bottom of the frame also? Mine does. That's the lower bolt in the upper right hand corner of the picture. And it has one bend that goes inside the factory spring hanger. Then one that bends on the outside that you can see and it then went up and to the 4 bolts on the side of the frame.
  4. ok so its because of my bumper bracket i think...? idk if mine are maybe different from yours?
  5. I'm not sure what others have done. But for me at least. To properly run that lower bolt to where I felt confident in itself. I had to stack 4 or 5 washers to fill the void between the 2 brackets
  6. I used to own a towing business. NEVER trust the steering lock. ALWAYS secure the wheel with something else. wrap the wheel with the belt and call it a day, ive towed a hundred vehicles like this, albeit many were junk cars, but never the less. theres no issue with reverse towing, that's also how many "heavy" trucks, ie: semis, dumps, boxes, ect.. are towed.
  7. To each their own.... but that's just ugly
  8. And for $7.50 I'd be all over that if mine wasn't the Chryco key
  9. This is how 80% of all tow trucks carry RWD vehicles...
  10. there was someone a could days ago I think, that had a similar weird noise, that ended up being a loose torque converter.
  11. I don't see why they wouldn't work. looks like standard GM keys
  12. you could also tow "in reverse" and keep the 2wd axle on the ground and not have to do anything
  13. Does anybody know total production numbers? Not just 4x4?
  14. Why would you definitely not want to install a SYE that is widely seen as superior in every situation? Especially if your already removing the shaft to replace it. And already having the possibility of needing your driveshaft modified/ shortened? .
  15. you say you can find d44s easy.... now either you found treasure trove of MJ44s that nobody knows about. or they are the wrong D44s. MJ D44s are specific to MJs. mass production D44s will NOT direct bolt in. not even XJ D44s unless you weld new spring perches.
  16. especially if its a work related mod vs the "bro" truck look. id look into modifying a ladder rack or similar, as half the work is already done. this is a possible start http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/truck-boxes-racks/800-lb-capacity-full-size-truck-rack-61407.html
  17. You'd have to PM Brandon for an email or something. And if he's OK with that.
  18. Who's making side plates? Krustyballer16
  19. That's a great deal! Around here they want $100 to coat one wheel, I need to find another place. A good friend of mine has a body shop. So as long as its nothing intricate or difficult, he just charges me supply cost.
  20. Mounted, cleaned and trim installed.
  21. I just finished this today. $60 for the plates from Brandon, $20 for the 2.5" tube, $20 for the receiver and $20 for powder coat.
