    Censorship

Personally I think we could use a little more self censoring on this site and a lot less opinionated world view. That said, the guy writes for a living and is looking for another story that might be of public interest. Here's what he writes about. https://www.bloombergquint.com/author/60981/kyle-stock#gs.1hpc1e What was that old saying? Paranoia to the people! No, that's not it. Lighten up indeed.
  2. I rebuilt a VW bus engine only to find out afterward that the fault was really the inaccurate compression tester that I borrowed from my buddy that owned an auto repair shop. One should always follow the old carpenter's adage, measure twice cut once. And then there's, I cut it twice and it's still too short!
  3. TV mini-series Lonesome Dove starring Robert Duval and Tommy Lee Jones. The book by Larry McMurtry is done considerable justice and it is a great read also.
  4. Looks good to me! Put me on the list for a couple 2 or 3.
  5. Perfect! Only thing missing is a view of the chrome bumpers but one can't have everything. Good job!
  6. I am deeply moved by Don's passing as I'm sure all of us are here on CC. It's a sad day indeed. He will be missed as he has been already. Wishing his family peace in their time of grief. Here's to you Don!
  7. My same thoughts as well

    moon go bye bye

Pete, nice photo in spite of the tripod. Watched it here through some fairly high power binoculars. Haven't had a really good camera since the invention of digital Totally clear skies, 32 degrees and about 5k feet. Looked just like the photo
  9. Recommended to me by a local body shop. Purchased and appears to work quite well. Free delivery in 2 days with Prime. Corroseal https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CRFYG0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. If I remember correctly, with the pan off you can check how much slack is in the timing chain. Mine was pretty loose well before 200K. I replaced it along with the harmonic balancer. Easier to do while engine is out.
  11. I expect I will be heading down that road as well on my next flare. I'd rather be fishing.
  12. I believe up to and including the 96 will just drop in. After that there may be mods but not really sure. I tried to fit a 97+ at the junk yard into an MJ and it was not a drop in.
  13. I used penetrating oil several times over a couple of days before removing one of my flares. I still managed to break 3 of them. Hard to see that you're going to break one until it happens. Next one I will likely take the wheel off and use a dremel and rotary brush on the threads after oil and see if that improves my success rate.
  14. An added incidental while you're at it. This from Hornbrod some months back. Read down to my question about which part as there is some confusion about which one of two is correct at the beginning of the thread. I found it a worthwhile addition.
  15. Dang, a day late again. Thanks for the tip on changing preferences
  16. You can just plug it with the proper size npt brass plug. Makes purging the air easy as well that way. With the engine cold remove the plug when you are filling with coolant and put the plug back in when coolant starts to come out of the hole. Make sure the heater valve is open. You're already wired through the block and the head.

    Merry Christmas

At Eagle....Thank you for offering up your Christmas wishes with the proper spirit of graciousness and humility that is exemplified in the person and the day we are celebrating.
  18. Regular Army, 68-71. If you want to thank a veteran vote for those who validate the injuries incurred in service and who fund the VA. Do the research, the rhetoric is very often BS.
  19. I know that feeling well My Lenovo with Win7 kept trying to update to Win10 and nothing else. I let it do it once and decided I hated it and used the uninstall function on the install. It kept trying to install Win10 so I looked up some solution on the interwebs. It now stops trying to download 10 but it also won't update anything at all and I can't remember what exactly I did. I then left it unplugged for a few months and now the battery won't charge either. I could get a new battery but still not sure if I could fix the problem. Reformatting doesn't seem to be an option and the discs I supposedly have somewhere for taking it back to the original state seem to have gone missing in my recent moves, if I had them at all. Oy vey, eh? I'm off to do some electronics repair on my subwoofer. We'll see if that goes any better
  20. I also have the Firestone Destination AT and like them quite well. Nice ride on the highway (not noisy) and gives good grip off the pavement as well. Probably not the best choice if you are into 'off roading.'
  21. The tail gate literally takes about 30 seconds to remove and another 30 to put back on. I take mine off on a semi regular basis because it makes some things easier to load and I don't have to crawl over it. Try it, you'll like it
  22. Why not just take the tail gate off when you're loading it and then put it back on?
  23. Here's one that looks interesting. http://downeyproductsnortheast.com/partfinder/product/list/?year=1990&make=Jeep&model=Comanche 7' Long Bed Oops, looks like it's a soft cover.
  24. I'm pretty sure I stated what I do is for myself and my situation and I'm well aware of the limitations of smaller caliber hand guns. Yes, I'm sure as Canadians one is more likely to be invited to high tea than to be assaulted. As it happens half my maternal clan is from BC. Around here I'm a lot less worried about problematic wild life than problematic human life owing in part to my wife and I having found ourselves in very a uncomfortable situation out on the road. Take what you like from what I posted and if it doesn't apply then leave it behind. More than just you and the OP read posts on CC and in this case at least it was more to add food for thought for preparedness in marginal situations. Your criticism (ridicule) is duly noted.
