  1. Thanks, hornbrod- this gives me something to work with.
  2. What is the length of the cowl you installed?here's the info on the hood scoop-38"x23"x2.5" bought it from summit for $73.00 Thanks!
  3. This past Saturday I replaced my lower control arms with arms that had new bushings in them - no problem. I did not , however, replace the uppers. Why you may ask? I could not remove the bushings from the axle. After spraying them down with plenty of PB Blaster on the cup inserts and allowing them to soak overnight as well as well as liberal force with a large c-clamp, they refused to budge. A few good whacks with an engineer's hammer was not effective at convincing them to move either. Am I missing something or is there some sort of trick to removing the old and rotted bushings from the axle? Is a ball joint press the missing ingredient, or did I just not allow enough time for the penetrant to soak?
  4. What is the length of the cowl you installed?
  5. So, how long did it take for the shell to be removed, or is it still there?
  6. Oh man, got any more pictures of that beauty? I pulled the pic off the NW Roll Call thread; I didn't go all the way through it... there may be more.
  7. This one? Its 1990 Pioneer 4x4's.
  8. LOL I haven't heard Mea Culpa since referring to my ex by someone that charged me $250/hr. /legalese
  9. I wonder if driving a Comanche Eliminator to an Indian Reservation would be considered insensitive?
  10. Related, my reverse lights have not worked in a long time for my AX4. Bulbs are good, fuse is good. Any thoughts?
  11. I think this would be an easy fix as its all superficial. I think it's a good start for a hot rod MJ: Replace the bed Replace the front bumper Replace steering wheel Remove window and side skirt treatments Put on a 97+ header panel Replace steering wheel Go crazy with rattle can primer outside Replace interior panels and rattle can the dash Take everything removed from the rig to the landfill in your refreshed truck Done!
  12. I think he's looking for left and right weight distribution, not front and back.
  13. On Jalopnik this morning: http://jalopnik.com/playboy-marfa-may-be-the-next-great-car-geek-roadside-530413149
  14. An extended cab instead of a crew cab would be a bit more proportionate.
  15. The air being blown out of the dash vents is pulled from atmosphere via the vent in front of the driver's side wiper arm..
  16. It's summer... sandals, flip-flops, other light and loose fitting footwear for casual driving when not going to/from work. Usually noticeable while letting out the clutch. After research, the Mopar part number for the slush mats hornbrod mentioned is 82204675.
  17. I have a set of the Rugged Ridge [same as Quadratec's liners with different logo] and am not overly thrilled with them. I picked my up from Amazon for just under $50. Just another high-sided floor liner with deep tread. Issues I have run in to with them: -They slide despite the nubs as there is no provision for a tether or anchor unless you make one. -The edge of the mat interferes with the already narrow space for the gas pedal. -Soft plastic materiel of liner allows sides to warp or bow as they are not a 'perfect' fit for an MJ as seen in mzairboy's pic above]. -Deep tread of mat catches on heel of shoes while using the clutch pedal. -Passenger side pattern is off [as can be seen in mzairboy's pic above]. Regarding the fit and the bowing, I have tried the floor liners both with and without the factory floor mats in place; it makes no difference. They do keep snow/slush/water/mud/soda/gravel/small woodland creatures in the liner instead of in the carpet. Do they work? Yeah, sure. Are they as awesome as the retailers make them out to be? IMO, no.
  18. My other half's son has a 5.9... will have to send him the above link. Thanks.
  19. $125 in scrap. Should have offered $20 for the tail lights and see if he'd have taken it.
  20. Well, that's a little awkward...
  21. Looks good and am digging the stripes. Keep it as original as you can; it will help its resale when it's time to part with it.
  22. I've always liked the old-school state mudflaps, and just found an organization that started reproducing the Keep Oregon Green flaps. Picked up a set and used the fender flare to mount them to with some self-tapping screws, but had to get creative deeper in the wheel well on getting them mounted. Pic when it's light out.
  23. What kind of an idiot does that and thinks it's a good idea?!? Oh, right... that kind of idiot.
  24. Have you made sure all your underhood grounds including battery cables are clean and free of crud and corrosion? Higher amp alternators (not 200w, but an improvement over 65w): http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?Ntt=4.0+1988+Jeep+Cherokee+Alternator&searchType=global&N=0&submit=
