  1. :agree: That would bring your list of bad things back to 3 or else your looking at 2 more to make 6!
  2. I would say that wouldn't be very good for highway driving, but how far would you wanna go anyway? Looks like a nice rig, but idk much about the prices of those older cjs.
  3. He is converting from a pukegoat to an AW4 jeff.
  4. Thanks, yeah I won't be looking at that one seeing as how its already sold. I am a pretty good mechanic and know of all the usual things to check, but I don't know too much about the tahoes. I was looking for information such as problems they had in particular and better years to look for. You guys have given me some very good info on the fuel systems which I will take into account. I agree with you Jacked88, I have had TBI set-ups on my Camaros and I think they rob unnecessary power.
  5. I have stripped an XJ in less than a day with 1 helper. Then you forget things and which you saved that one little piece, which is a PITA to go and get.
  6. You should need to swap the flywheel, cross member, and find a drive shaft from another 4x4 auto MJ.
  7. :agree: :ack:
  8. You used the 87 intake and exhaust on the 94 head?
  9. The antenna cable runs under the dash above the passengers feet and plugs into the bottom of the antenna inside the fender. If the radio is on then the fuse is good.
  10. Ive had Interstate batteries in almost every car I have owned and had no problems. When I bought my MJ it had a 7 year old interstate, and with a jump ran and still started for 2 months before I bought a new one! When I replaced the batt it was still functioning just tested low on the tester.
  11. You need to slide the outer pad off and use a C clamp to push the piston back in then remove the other pad. Sometimes they can be tough so crack the bleeder screw and then push the piston in. Did you take the caliper and bracket off as one piece? You need to just take the caliper off and leave the bracket on the spindle.
  12. I don't know too much about the swap but, you would need the wiring harness and ECU from the S10 also. I would think you might wanna look for a complete parts truck to have everything you need. Why not just pick up a complete running H.O XJ with no tittle for 500 bucks?
  13. H.O motor swap!
  14. Take the switch back out click it all the way towards the wheel to the ACC position. Then install it hold the key all the way back and tighten the bolt and nut holding the switch down. This ensures you have it in the correct position.
  15. I would say paint anything you feel comfortable removing. I wouldn't try to paint anything on the truck unless its black and you can't see the over spray. The tie rod and diff covers are easy to remove, clean, sand, prime, and paint. :wrench:
  16. :agree: But you don't need the new o-rings and seals. Any parts store sells the adapter fittings that will screw over your high and low side R12 ports to make them adapt to r134A. Then you need to get everything out and you should bring it to a vacuum but not 100% necessary. Then charge it with a special conversion oil and new 134A, the oil will have dye in it. By doing it this way it is the easiest and cheapest but will shorten the life of the R12 compressor, but I figure who cares one from a JY is 10 bucks. Been running mine like this for 2 years.
  17. First off let me say.... WHAT!? :hmm: Never heard of a Comanche that doesn't give any trouble. I'm not too familiar with the older 350s but does it have the vacuum advanced distributor?
  18. I'm looking for the best stock set-up. I am trying to find a decent DD that will do 60 miles a day with little problems. Right now the 94 XJ has this duty and hasn't broken yet. "Knock on wood"
  19. Thanks for the input guys. Just found this one.. looks good I think I will go check it out. http://williamsport.craigslist.org/cto/2168256295.html
  20. Weird un proportional looking truck= longbed :ack:
  21. I will be looking for a Tahoe around 95-99 soon and was wondering if anyone here knew what to look for when buying used?
  22. :agree: But I would still bet that you need a new starter solenoid..
  23. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Starter-Solenoid-BWD_3993949-P_575_R|GRPSTRTAMS_567868922___ I actually need another(4th) solenoid because the one on my truck now is intermittent.
  24. Thanks for all your input guys. I think I am going to just leave this truck alone. I only need it to last another 3-4 weeks then it will either be parted or just sit in my driveway until I can do something with it.
  25. Idk how it does it but when my 3 solenoids went they would make it loose all power. When I would turn it to start it would click then nothing all power was lost.
