  1. I ran the kit the way it came for over a year,It worked ok but wasn't right. 31s worked fine on it but when i put on the 33s i had to do some trimming due to the stock control arms being too short. I ended up adding RC adj control arms,RC 6.5" coils, sway bar disconnects, longer brake lines, and i made my own control arm drop brackets.
  2. You were asking how 31s will look. this is mine when i had the Rocky road 5" and 31s and here it is with the rocky road 5" and 33s
  3. If your in an accident the insurance company usually uses NADA to determine value so the higher the price the better.
  4. BTW, what was up with the Waggy nosed LWB XJ-thing?: Looks like a section of MJ bed pieced in behind the XJ's rear doors. :hmm: Definitely has that 'unibody dropped onto a frame' look to it. Any more pics, or description? Looked like a cool time. they were with a group of mud trucks, your pretty much right its got a piece of MJ bed rivited to the rear of it.
  5. Its a not an MJ club, just a jeep club but they seem to be open to all 4X4s. they are out of the coosbay area
  6. here's some pics from the first annual "don't fear the jeeper " meet. It was alot of fun, although i had the only MJ there. A guy from work and his long armed ZJ Bens Subaru Darrens XJ random pics from the meet
  7. Just added a new accessory to the MJ. thats how it looked when i took it home, now it has been cleaned up and all the paint removed. Its a 17' Grumman ultra light. I picked up the canoe, two paddles, and the roof rack for $100
  8. I wouldnt use the drivetrain other then engine and maybe trans. the 249 t-case is junk but you should be able to adapt a 242. the front axle is a low pinion dana 30 that uses CVs making it weaker then an XJ dana 30 and the rear is a 44A which has an aluminum diff housing and breaks easily its also coil sprung so it would take some work to get it under your MJ.
  9. he looks like every other person in Camas,Wa
  10. I used some white foam board from the dollar tree but you could use all kinds of stuff. just make sure whatever you use wount be hurt by the adhesive.
  11. I just picked up one at the pick and pull about a month ago, havent put it on yet though.
  12. If you part it out i would be interested in the flairs
  13. here's mine when it was at 5" with 31X10.5 Here it is again at 5" but with 33X12.5
  14. here's what i got with the RC 6.5" springs. It could go further if i trimmed the fenders
  15. I had 3" coils with 2" spacers up front and SOA rear. I went to RC 6.5" lift coils and its pretty close to level
  16. I guess that makes it ok , I would sacrifice a Chevy any day to preserve my Jeep
  17. can't have too many AMCs. don't know about the AMC powered K2500. If you found a nice J truck you wouldnt need the Chevy.
  18. I had their 5" lift on my truck,It worked well and the quality was good. i have yet to have a problem with anything ive got from them. Just keep in mind that their kits are very basic to keep prices low they come with enough to lift your truck and drive it but not everything you should have on your truck, they sell all the parts but as upgrades to the basic kits.
  19. I was wondering how that thing was coming along, looks to be going alot better then my RD350 build. I know what you mean about big thumper sound, ive got a 650cc Rotax in my quad. I still remember the feeling i got when they fired it up inside the Bombardier dealership, i thought it was gonna blow out the windows
  20. my brother has the same bike but in Black,It a great bike and alot of fun to ride. Now this is my style of bike Its almost as fast as my brothers Z1000 straight line but can murder it in the turns nothing like riding a 1 liter V twin dirtbike on steroids
  21. I would make sure the pump is getting power and make sure you didnt pinch any lines. as long as your putting in an MJ/XJ axle the front axle install is pretty easy,i wouldnt take it to a shop.
  22. Id rather have the SV over the Katana, I considered an SV1000 when i bought my KTM.
  23. I'm not into cruisers but Honda has been coming out with some sharp cruisers lately. Last summer one of my friends bought a Fury Chopper, for a production chopper its pretty nice.
  24. can't you move the steer box out of the way without removing the lines? I know mines a 4cyl with more room but I did a complete power steer conversion on mine and never cracked a line.
  25. the JEEP logo on my headliner only took a few extra min to make. The RRO lift is an ok place to start if your new to jeeps but over time you will change it,If you are already familiar with the MJ/XJ you can build a better lift, currently i only have the shocks,SOA kit and track bar on my truck.every thing else has been replaced the springs and shocks work well, they use OME springs which are excellent springs the only problem is they are 3" springs with spacers on top of them to get 5",i ended up replacing them with some RC 6.5" lift coils to level out the truck better and the OME springs are going on my XJ to replace the stock coils w/spacers setup thats on it now. the kit doesnt come with control arms,it will drive without them but you will want to put them on your todo list as it puts your arms at a very steep angle and pulls the tires back,my 33s rubbed bad before trimming. with my new arms there is plenty of room. The RRO lift was a good place for me to start,it was cheap and got my truck lifted and i could drive it while i figured out what i was doing and put together my own combination. Thanks
