  1. I have basically the same truck, mine doesn't burn much oil I had to go 6.5"s to match my SOA,your big issue is gonna be gears. with the 4spd you should have 3.55s so if you want tires to match your lift you will need to regear. My 2.5l pulls my 33X12.50s with stock gears but its not real happy about it
  2. Higher octane allows more advance, its harder to ignite so its less likely to missfire or pre detonate. That's why most cars with high compression or forced induction require premium
  3. I figure just being a comanche makes it fairly rare.
  4. I would say your getting about average, that's about what my 4.0l xj gets. The best my 2.5l has got was 18mpg,I don't even want to know what it gets now with the 33x12.50s
  5. Mine fit in a std garage door at 6.5" and 33s with a canoe rack on top.
  6. You have to be careful, different engines react differently. If you don't have the compression ratio to efficiently burn premium you could actually lose performance and fuel mileage.
  7. Sure it does, one to get it running and the other for a spare. Can't have too many CPS's.
  8. 31s are also a lot easier on the drivetrain. But on the other hand 33s look a lot cooler
  9. So by not painted you mean not anodized.
  10. Looking at the pics it looks like you already have a lift.
  11. A lot of 4x4 shops stock the spidertrax spacers, you might be able to get some locally.

    want...

From what I've read you have to bring it here as parts and assemble it,then it will qualify as a kit car. If you buy it turn key it has to meet US regulations, which it doesn't.

    want...

In Arizona you could drive one as well but in general they are not allowed to be driven in the US.

    want...

Too bad we can't have those cars here, the Atom is cool but i think I would go with the KTM.
  15. Keep in mind that MJs sit fairly low stock,a 6" lifted MJ really isn't that big. If you carefully pieced it together you could probably pull 6" off for around $800
  16. That's the problem with the 8.8 IMO the D35 is too narrow and the 8.8 is worse. Your gonna need spacers or aftermarket wheels and if you want any flex you may want both.
  17. Most people make their own but you can buy them. http://www.rocky-road.com/xjrockrail.html
  18. A set of 4x4 springs should get you a little higher. I would get the lift done and see how it looks, before buying anything. Remember the rear is higher then the front stock so it will take less lift in the back to match the front.
  19. I would do 6"-6.5" with soa rear, with either adj upper/lower arms and drop brackets or some type of long arm. It would clear 33x12.50s and perform well on and off road Big question is how much do you want to spend?

  22. At least your a tuff old guy  Glad your ok,sometimes one moment of carelessness is all you get.
  23. I would wait till your done and see how far off it is,you changed gears but your also going with bigger tires so they will cancel each other out a bit.
  24. Your truck won't sit level,I originally did a 5" SOA lift and I ended up going 6.5" to get it level. A lot of people don't like rustys, that kit looks ok for a low end budget kit. What kind of stuff do you plan to do with your truck?
  25. Problem with used gears is you are disturbing them and putting them into a different axle housing. There are small difference between every axle so you figure the gears have been wearing a certain way for however miles then you take them out and put them in a different axle. You take that versus a complete undisturbed axle and the risk is much less.
