  1. Kinda expensive, add shipping and your about twice what I paid for a complete non cad D30 with 297s
  2. I don't think the disco makes much difference with a locker, you figure that most cherokees were non disco and lots of of cherokee guys run lockers with no issues. I know a lot of guys running spartans and they say you don't even know its there with the non disco axle. It doesn't take much to snap a 260 so I'm glad I got rid of mine,if you go to 297 axles then you can upgrade to 760s
  3. That's the same thing that I did to my first axle,I ended up just changing the entire axle for a non disco with the bigger joints, cost me $150 If you like the disco I've heard of some 95 YJs being available with 297s Or you need to go non disco, any XJ with ABS should have 297s or any XJ after 1995 should have 297s
  4. Depending what guages you have this would be a good time to upgrade.
  5. 3.55 and 3.54 are the same. I haven't ridden the RD yet since I'm still putting it together,my primary road bike is my KTM950 SM.
  6. I had a locker in the rear of my old F-250 but I didn't take it off road much,my last F-150 had a factory limited slip with 31X10.5 MTs,it got around great. I bought the D44 from a NAXJA member/vendor out of Yakima,he was coming here to pick up some laser work so he dropped it off. I gave $250 for it,its 3.55/open.I also got some disc brake conversion brackets from him.
  7. Well I drug this home yesterday I can finally get rid of the D35,it also means I can get my gears and lockers. I've been waiting because I wasn't about to dump the money on my D35. I also picked up some disc brake conversion brackets for the 44 so that should be a nice upgrade as well.
  8. I think if I ever tried to ride that far on my motorcycle my a$$ would fall off.
  9. That would be a long ride on a bike, but there are some nice bike trails around Portland. If you watch on NAXJA there is usually a meet and greet about once a month, good place to meet fellow MJ/XJ owners and grab a beer.
  10. Mines actually done very well with open diffs,I should be doing lockers here soon though. I picked up a D44 yesterday, now I can do my 4.88s and lockers.
  11. Borings the most exciting place to live, didn't you see the sign. I actually just moved here from Vantucky,I was over in orchards off Padden.
  12. They do nothing to the wheel well,All your doing is taking the fender off that's where the extra room comes from. The metalcloak just dresses it up and gives you a tube for extra protection.
  13. Those would be easy to make.
  14. MJ or XJ would be best but pretty much anything with a dana30 could be made to work. I've got YJ steering on mine.
  15. Make sure you check out the NAXJA NW chapter,we are a very active group and there are even a few guys in/around Vancouver. Its a great local resource.
  16. They came with my canoe, they just clip onto the drip rails I think they would be easy to make.
  17. I have the slip somewhere but it was a little over 600@ 30 which comes out too around 900 on a std 20 degree. I'm planning to change a few things so I'm hoping to get a bit more.
  18. What kit is it?
  19. IIRC some full size cherokees use the same springs. Call Tom at Hellcreek suspensions, they make leaf springs and he can tell you more then you would want to know about them and what fits.
  20. Found another after I aired down a bit but I'm still stuffing the tires into the fenders.
  21. This is an old pic before I cut my fenders so its not flexing all the way,I'm also not aired down in the pic. That's about 36" on a 30 degree ramp
  22. Why do you want to get rid of the 4.0L? Really from the 4.0l pretty much your only option would be a V8 swap
  23. I doubt that,I had a co worker with a grand sitting on long arms that couldn't flex as far as my MJ.

  25. You should be fine up to around 6"-6.5"
