  1. $4000 is a lot of money then you still have to convert your truck to 4.0l stuff before it will run.
  2. Just keep in mind that if you remove the front flairs your tires will probably throw mud and water on your hood and windshield.
  3. Not sure they are home made, some older aftermarket arms look like that. If you pull one off and take off a bushing you might find a part number on the bushing, sometimes they were molded in. You could also go to a parts store and match them up. Factory bushings will not work
  4. Definently not stock, also looks like your truck is already lifted
  5. The Dana 35 front is an IFS axle used in the Ford ranger, you most likely have a Dana 30 up front.
  6. I would also reccomend making them removable if you go offroad. Here is Darrens (Goblazers_6) XJ on a 30 degree ramp when it was stock with the links disconnected.
  7. Here's mine, I made my first set but these are iron rock links for a zj that I turned in disconnects
  8. You could make the top match the bottom then make a U shaped bracket to bolt to the sway bar.then the upper part of the link could be attached with a bolt or pin. That's basically how I've got mine except I made mine into quick disconnects.
  9. The shocks should not limit travel,if you only have an inch your gonna over extend the shocks when you hit bumps or try to flex.
  10. No that's not how it works,if the shocks can't travel how can your truck flex?
  11. So even at 4.5" the shocks you have won't work.
  12. That doesn't make sence, from what your saying if you dropped your truck to 4.5" your shocks would bolt on but you would only have about 1" of down travel.
  13. Something isn't right,4.5" lift shocks should bolt up they would just hit their limit way too early when you work the suspension.
  14. If your not looking for extreme flex it doesn't make sense. You can go SOA for around $50 and have a 6-6.5" lift in the rear, your not going to be able to build a 4 link correctly for close to that.
  15. Just make sure it was a 4.0l if it had any other engine its gonna have an ax4 or ax5 and won't be much use to you.
  16. Some people do remove them, most people get quick disconnect links. That way you have the sway bar on the road but you can disable it off road
  17. Track bar would depend on how you designed it,if you triangulated the 4 link you wouldn't need one because the upper arms would center the axle. Lots of coil sprung rigs are running around with no rear sway bar
  18. Its been done before on MJs and XJs,TJs and grand cherokees came that way factory. Problem is mj leaf springs flex very well so you don't gain a whole lot converting it
  19. The 35 is stronger then its given credit for,I've seen v8 ZJs locked on 35" tires thrash on them. So depending on where and how you wheel you might be fine with the stock axle for now. When I swap out my 35 I'm probably gonna do a MJ or XJ 44,maybe a late 8.25,I'm a Ford guy but I would not do a 8.8". Its a great axle but I can't give up the width,IMO the stock axle should be wider so I couldn't go narrower.
  20. Here you can see how much clearance you have.
  21. You shouldn't have any clearance issues with 33s. I haven't cut one so I don't know how far you can go but I don't think its much.
  22. Why do you want to cut them? With SOA you will hit the frame before hitting the flairs unless you plan to run huge tires
  23. You will also need an adj track bar,new shocks, and longer brake lines
  24. Spacers are cheap, what's your plan for the rest of the lift?
  25. 4.5" most likely won't be enough to match the rear. you usually need 6-6.5 to make it sit level
