Who knows what this vacuum line goes to?
ggcnash replied to toid's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I'll let cruiser give you the details, but just go by 97+ XJ heater hose set and that's it it Eliminated! -
It can be done, but the clocking is all wrong so you must have an adapter made or make yourself, which when all said and done the price will be more for me considering I also have to acquire the 241c. Also the kits from aa and novak works with either 2wd or 4wd trans because your changing the output on the trans. The price between the two (2wd vs4wd) are considerable when buying second hand. As I said I'm trying to do some research so if you can steer me in a different direction and save me some money that would be great and I appreciate any more suggestions

What is a good reputable re-manufactured engine?
ggcnash replied to JXP's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Guys have had some negative things to say about titan strokers, but I have experience with their stock reman engines and just watched my buddy's roll 100k on a daily. Titan also runs great deals on eBay good luck!- 34 replies

Hi guys got a question for you guys that have experience with advanced adapters or Novak. I'm obviously trying to mate a gm4l60 to my 96 231 t-case, what I'm wanting to find out is which route should I go AA or Novak? The biggest difference from what I can tell is AA's adapter modifies the tcase to a 27 spline input vs the Novak that changes the trans to a 23 spline output which is better? The first thought that comes to my mind is AA, because I think I would go through a trans before my tcase? Suggestions are appreciated

I've have heard horror stories, but I have honestly never had an issue u guess lucky me[emoji1]. I always use PayPal either direct PayPal from a vendors site, or my paypal account debit card makes vendors mind their P&Q's just a suggestion good luck[emoji106]

I will rephrase that it has been done on a 91 with extra wiring just not as simple. -

That's pretty cool. I googled it real quick, Looks like you can add in that switch to pretty much any XJ, Just have to jumper into the ECU. I may end up doing that, Since i convereted my AC into a air compressor, The extra RPM @ idle would be great for extra air flow. Yea, unfortunately only 92 to 96 tried on 91 pin outs aren't there[emoji45] -

I'd sure like to see a pic of it. They are not shown as an option in the parts manual anywhere that I can find. :hmm: Posted in tech -
Center Console block off plate

Now if Chrysler didn't offer this part (block off plate)who did? As stated before extremely precise to be homemade plus the fact that I have the exact one from a totally unrelated service jeep with same options pulled from JY. -
Brother, bought this service jeep from uncle who is fire chief in town. Uncle says it was ordered with center console option and column shift. The back side has the same tabs as on the back of regular shift plate, but it is made of metal. Same plate I have for mine pulled from JY unfortunately same holes in mine, uncle says his came from a ram mount (CB,laptop, radio)

Looked the same under hood, as my 91, what is the main visual difference if any? Also did the trans and tcase wiring not change in 96 obd2 I ask because it was plug and play for the mj?

Also I can't say for sure there was never a Comanche with this option. I'm sure there is someone out there that ordered an mj with buckets, column shift, and console? -

I do have the original block off plate for center console service edition xj problem is they mounted something on it so it has 4 screw holes in center I must fix. To answer your question not sure if it was in there during pic or not? Had it in and out a lot. I'll snap some pics the OE block off plate tonight. You could make one pretty easy. They are hard to come by considering they only came in the column shift xjs that opted for center console, because most of those came with no console. -
96 is a swap year, I own a 96 obd1 donor xj so depending on which one you have it could be direct swap. Chrysler actually lists 91-96 xjs as obd1 and 97+ obd2, but mvusse is correct there were 96 obd2 models.

Well I hate to break it to you but these trucks suck the gas for what they are IMO. Fuel economy 2015 6cyl canyon is 17 and 24 avg 20mpg , 2015 5.3 Sierra qaud cab fuel economy 16 and 23 avg 19. Not saying go get an HD, but just a 1500 is a lot more truck for almost same damn price when considering purchasing a new truck. Msrp starts at 21k for canyon and 27k for Sierra. As far as tires gonna cost you about same either way. Now if it's just the the small duramax that intrigues you then go for it should be a solid little engine.[emoji106]

Gmc looks considerably better from the front IMO, but I have to look at these things everyday the company I work for bought 5 total, 3 Chevys ,and 2 GMCs as shop trucks. Drove them a few times, IMO they drive pretty good but I feel like I'm in my sisters Santa Fe . Also the side view of these things look even more like a small foreign suv, because of the window lines on the qaud cabs. Just my opinion, and I would honestly think long and hard about paying that kind of $ for a midsize truck, you could get yourself a real truck for that kind of money, because at the end of the day it's just an s10!
