Also your drawing must not have translated well because my rear leg 5 3/4" also take a little lower pic of the rail itself that your hiding! Dude I have ocd it looks horrible!
-
Dude that doesn't make any difference with the rockers lol! I guess you are not understanding do I need to send you guys pics from some RR sliders on a comanche? I think someone on here has them? When you take a straight edge and put it on the rockers at the front the only position is 1.5" roughly and this tapers to rear down to .5" it looks like $#!&. My Chevy also has rails with body line. All vehicles have a shorter axle in rear for tracking purposes I say this because this was the first excuse kept I'm coming lol! I wouldn't have posted anything but all I wanted was acknowledgement of the design f k as and fix it for future customers but all I received from Brandon was excuses and attempted justification! Bottom line buy from ESTABLISHED VENDORS!
-
I am taking them to a welding shop next week to have the rear posts extended and have the clips moved down on the rail a 1/2" to 3/4" to tuck them up closer to the rocker it will look way better!

If these problems were fixed they would be awesome

First off guys I will say these things are beefy, but the design is flawed in my opinion. If you have seen the way they mount with clamps on pinch seam then two posts one front one in rear that go to the frame. First off for the front post to meet the frame you must back the front clip allen screw all the way out example Now here is the issue for the rear post to meet the frame it must mount skewed meaning it does not follow the body line Me having ocd this bothers the $#!& out of me, plus it is very noticeable even more so with the steps. (On a ride now 4 different club members said "Nice rails you know they are crooked"[emoji20])Now if you adjust the allen all the way in on the rear you can make it follow the body lines Much better! But now the problem is this the rear post is short of frame 3/4" I was told they were designed this way Because it stays square with the axles lol! These things protect the rockers why wouldn't they flow with body? I have 2 different pairs of rails on other vehicles one an xj with rocky road super sliders. Which kinda 45 the steps to wrap the rockers if they didn't follow the body line they wouldn't fit! Either way the only resolution is to fix them at a welding shop or send them back and eat shipping both ways! Which would basically pay for them again!

Google "jeep xj hidden winch stock bumper" if you have access to a welder and fab skills, and don't mind it not saying Warn on it. Many iterations of this has been made and improved on from the original search naxja good luck[emoji106]

Title says it all guys, willing to pay cash, or I may have something you want for trade? Gray would be best, but considering how hard these are for me to come across any color will do. Thanks, Chase

The quality of these rails are gonna be amazing! Can't wait for a pair

Awesome!

Yeah bud 300$ for a 4.10 d30 is a good buy those are a lot harder to find and cheap to go even deeper if needed, but it is a little on the expensive side for a 3.55 d30 obviously these are everywhere.

I'll throw this out there now... I can't beat Nate's price, shipping costs too much, unless you're ready close then it will be cheaper than Nate's,maybe. But mine are built a little beefier...And can be changed or "made custom" easier than they can do. Thanks That's sounds good to me. I was going to pull the trigger on a set from RR for my SB, but since your making them I'll go with yours! I wasn't aware nates made them for a SB?

Thanks, to answer your question, no rubbing with the RE 3.5 and 1/2" spacers before I put the spacers they would slightly rub at full lock, although it was very minimal the only reason I added the spacers was to level it out with the HC springs in rear. -
Like I said it can be done, but getting the engine in there is not even half the battle lol, is the truck you dropped the 5.2 in operational? If so then you should know getting the engine in place is nothing. Lol
-
My first instinct was to stay with a Chrysler engine just for the reason stated, but after countless hours of research anything other than the sbc is very very very very expensive $! Reason being is no other engine on the planet has the aftermarket support of the sbc and there is literally motor mounts for every vehicle on the planet with a lot of R&D to go along with it. Now that being said it can be done and has been done, but be prepared to spend alot more $ and have someone readily available with some bad to the bone fab skills. Then when it's all said and done there will be no performance gains (you can't get all the power to the ground in an xj or mj with the small 4.8 ls) just the fact you get to tell people you got a hemi!

Going through this exact swap now (5.3 vortec) in the Manche (taking plenty of pics) the 3k estimate is pretty light. I will have around 3k in parts alone my engine and tranny were free! I decided to do it, because some buddy's that have mall crawlers have done it and the power WOW it's exactly what you think would happen if someone shoved a V8 in there trust me. I've rode in a lot of strokers doesn't compare in the "seat of pants" department. Would like to add that I'm not saying a 4.7 stroker won't run with a stock V8 and won't put roughly the same useable power to the ground, but most people will have the same reply when getting out of an LS MJ "Holy $#!&"!

Aftermarket taillights on a Comanche?
ggcnash replied to DirtyJeepGuy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would have to disagree about the expensive part, this is a one time purchase. Very cool that rustys made these for our trucks considering the limited amount they will sale let's face it there is not too many on the road. -
What is a good reputable re-manufactured engine?
ggcnash replied to JXP's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Jasper basically no warranty unless one of their approved shops put it in!- 34 replies

Also for the reference to jasper, not gonna arrack there quality but their price is just ridiculous! The reasoning behind that price is crazy and what people don't realize unless they are having the engine put in by an approved shop! Had a buddy that's been workin on, and rebuilding jeeps longer than I've been alive he got burnt by jasper instead of trying to help a customer that basically payed double the money to get an engine from them they found a loophole and left it in his lap! Not a business I wanna deal with- 34 replies

A drill and lights of your choice
-
Wouldn't take much to make them street legal for any state with a drill and some lights. IMO I think the one light is an obvious choice but being all metal making them more custom would be easy.
-
Well I'm getting a pair from rustys for xmas if no one takes the leap they look awesome exactly what I've been wanting? Street legal, that's why I love Louisiana!
