  1. I was thinking the high heat as being a drawback, as well as possible cracking from road/trail conditions.
  2. Not really sure any other stats on the truck.. 4x4? Miles? Just my $.02...I’d part out what’s salvageable.Interior, glass, bed, tailgate, lights, ect.. I understand the sentimental reasoning behind fixing this. With that being said, for $2400 plus any other costs such as replacing body parts as well as engine work you’re better off finding another MJ. It’s been sitting for over a year. You can find a nice MJ with the money you’ll save in repairs as well as the money you will recoup selling parts.
  3. Ummm.... I’m probably in the minority here. I kinda like it. The price tag? No. The actual functionality of that bed to haul items around? No. Stealing the Gladiator name for that? No. Even the rehashed music( I think from a Nissan commercial)? No. Is your average blue collar guy even gonna justify paying that kinda money out for a wannabe Comanche? Ehhhh, probably not, although some will. I think it’s at least a step in the right direction. I still kinda dig it.
  4. I’m a Jarhead, but I too did my schooling at Fort Lost in the Woods. I was a heavy equipment operator and we cross-trained there with the Army, Navy and Air Force. My daughters at Camp Pendleton and I know the gate guards are all Marines there. I have gone to a couple other military installations and have noticed contractors now manning the gates instead of MPs.
  5. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.
  6. Thinking of you Don and your family. Speedy recovery to you Sir. Prayer headed your way.
  7. I think it’s literally the luck of the draw with makes and models. I will say this though. When I was growing up looking at cars if someone said it’s got a 100,000 miles on it, I wouldn’t even bother looking at it....Now? It only has 100,000 miles? It’s just a baby!
  8. I agree with the above posts. IMO guy went down south, got himself a decent looking Comanche, brought it back home and is trying to at least double his money. Nothing wrong with that. Just do some more research. Everyone’s just trying to save you some money. For that kind of money you can travel down south or out west to find some nicer Jeeps. Not sure where you're located but me thinks the rust belt. Nice Comanches are like unicorns in these parts.
  9. Last week. My 99 accord decided it was giving up! 236,000 miles. Traffic was just opening up on 94,south of Chicago. I was going about 50 mph in the left lane. Ended up with the car partially on the right shoulder blocking the right lane. How I hit no one was a miracle. Obviously I had zero control of where she ended up! My grandson asked me what happened to my car ( since it’s a usual staple out front of my house) I told him it went to Texas.... kinda like an old pet moving out to ‘the farm’😎
  10. Hey Shelby, Let’s just make em multi cam with an EGA on it!!!Semper Fi bro!
  11. I like it. Nice job, but...... How bout more of an a$@ end pic... tailgate, lights, Jeep across the tailgate? I mean that’s really all that sets it apart from an XJ. Maybe that could be on the back of the shirt. Like way down the road of course. I’m cool with just Comanche Club printed on it to start.
  12. I’m down for some garb as well. I realize this is the crawl, of the crawl, walk, run phase but....I’m in.
  13. Not mine....
  14. Thanks Krusty for finding me some visors!
  15. Thank Sinkrun but I’m looking for specific type visors. They are the long visors roughly 21 1/2 in long. Appreciate it though!
  16. Thought the guy was looking for an XJ?
  17. Thank Krusty. Let me know. I do have extra material that was sent with my headliner to cover visors. Yes color was unimportant just not broken.
  18. Thx bro! Yes I have an 87 with black interior. So these will be some more unicorn parts to find! The joy.....
  19. In search of.... went to the JY by me. Slim pickings. They had a couple older XJs but the visors were all too short. Just wondering if our particular visor lengths are specific to Comanches? So still looking!
  20. Looks like they would have to be about roughly 21 1/2 inches long. From center of attachment to roof (3screw) to center holder.

    Black visors

Looking for a set of visors for my 87. Black would be ideal but I have material to cover them. Pretty sure the visor length stayed the same 86-92 but I’m known to be wrong 50% of the time. Thanks. If interested I have a set of speaker brackets( B pillar) I would be willing to trade.
  22. ‘Everything works just not real good’..... I love that! Sounds like old age!
