Alright last update.. I promise! Took a pic of my haul... $44 and change. Ron, let’s just say got the tailgate and interior pieces( all black) for a steal. He may or may not have worn a mask a checkout! Apparently he’s out near Ft. Wayne Area. I sent him the link to CC and told him to check it out. He has I believe 5 or 6 MJs not to mention a couple JKs and a J series truck. He said he has a pole barn filled with Jeep parts. I know he mainly deals on FB, doesn’t ship, but......I know Brandon(Krustyballer) and Will( SaveeveryJeep) have dealt with him in the past. Maybe we can get something together, say a parts run?? Just putting it out there. Hope either one of those members will chime in with a little more insight. Just trying to help guys out looking for certain(unicorn) parts.When I finally left the JY today I was actually depressed a bit...It’s hard walking away from the truck fully knowing someone may need something off it. Just the rarity of seeing it in the yard...I did grab the vin as well and I’ll enter it into Registry. That Jeep had 202,000 on the Odometer.... it deserved a better fate.

Ron’s truck! 90 Eliminator from North Carolina. Believe he said he had a new Jasper engine put in. Asked bout the chrome covers on tail lights. Told me they were off an 86.

Well I took the trek, because I just posted I wouldn’t Met Ron Johnson.. Big Johnson Jeeps... Thanks a lot Will for telling him... He already grabbed the tailgate and interior pieces!! I snagged the rear fender flairs, shifter boot, glovebox, relay cover and the outside cab pillar vents... frame is clean...Bed just had rust over the wheels. Rear lights were gone already. Interior has a bench seat that’s totaled. Had idiot light cluster and rubber floor. Had sunroof and plexiglass for rear window. 2.5 4 spd. Drivetrain still intact. Rear bumper was actually pretty decent. Not factory.

Well that will save me a trip tommorow. I just got a hit on my LKQ search that it hit the yard today. I’d wager it’s already minus a tailgate and rear lights.

Ended up going with Autolite Platinums. Had NGKs in there and well let’s just say they were long overdue to be changed. One plug was pretty bad. The other 3 looked rough. Sounded great on startup. Not much of a choice on wires at Autozone. Duralast or Denso. I went with Duralast.

So I can grab either of those 94” ones and be good to go correct? Neither of those ends to cluster look like what I have.

Yes. So what is the part number for cable that I need? That’s what I need to know for wanted section. I just want to get the correct one. Thanks for the quick responses as always guys!

My Jeep is a base model. I took the cluster and cable from an XJ when I swapped out from idiot lights. That’s what I need to know here. Do I need just a straight cable that runs from gauge to Tranny or just the secondary from cruise piece to Tranny? I do not have cruise control, the donor did.

Gonna make this brief... well as possible! I swapped gauges out from idiot lights to temp, oil one. That was probably about 4 or 5 years ago. Speedo cable I grabbed with cluster out of an XJ. It has worked but the speedo needle has always bounced a bit. Truly not a big deal. Well the other day it stopped working completely. At the transmission the end was frayed out with the guts out. So I’m just gonna post in the wanted section for a replacement. When I disassembled today the cable is basically in 2 parts. The first part makes to back of cluster than moves to this piece(pictured) that has 2 wires coming from it that have never been hooked up. The second part of cable screws into the black piece then runs to transmission. So what do I need to ask for here? The entire assembly from gauge to transmission? Or just the secondary cable from black piece to Tranny? I will post pics so some one can decipher what I physically need here. Much love guys. Happy 4th to you and yours.
