  1. Agree with you 100%. I just felt that asking price was to high.
  2. Hey Jake don't get too discouraged. Look around this site. A lot of helpful members here, Check out the classified section here too. You can find a Comanche here( usually from a club member) at a resonable price, or they can point you in the right direction. What type, year, option ect.. are you looking for? I'm taking it your in the Michigan area if you posted a Grand Rapids craigslist ad? There's a Comanche out there for ya...stay motivated!!
  3. Note..If your selling your truck and taking pictures....CLEAN OUT THE CAB!!!!!!! On the pricey side. Personal pride of a vehicle says alot. I've seen cleaner port-o-johns on the job site. I'd say keep looking, to steep of a price
  4. What Comanche would be a rare factory find? I saw a post of a diesel powered manche,as well as a few Eliminator rarities. I'm not talking about mods but something from the factory with super low production numbers. It might not be worth much, but just a rare find in the Comanche world.
  5. LOL!!! I will never drive in the snow!! Man this winter has been brutal. It seems to get longer every year!!! May have to bring that Manche back to Texas so ya can enjoy it!
  6. My eyes are shot....When I first saw this post header I read it as "Front End RAFFLE!!!!! I was like heck ya,where do I get tickets!!!!
  7. What products do you guys/gals use to clean the engine and bay area. PO had a broken oil gauge line that made a mess. Have used a little brake cleaner on it..but was looking for something else maybe better to use. I used to have an older car that i would pressure wash the engine(leaving it running) at the car wash. Worked well but I'm very skeptical bout trying that with my Lanche. Some of these pics you guys post looks as if these engines are on mile 1!! Incredible. Thanks...Now time to go shovel.....again!! :grrrr:
  8. Jeep : Comanche Standard 1989 Jeep Comanche 2wd Looks like it's in PA.
  9. Bro you will find one in the spring. They are out there. Sure you may have to travel a bit to get one so save your dough. I'm an Ironworker in Chicago and got lucky finding one in Lowell, In. Funny, it happened to be my work partners at the time!! Lot of knowledge on this site,so don't be afraid to do some research and ask questions. Good luck on your search and welcome to the club. I'll keep my eyes peeled out for one. I'm about an hour from ya.
  10. Greetings all. Just got back from my 2wk National Guard annual training. Spotted two Comanches down in Southern Indiana. One red, looked to be 87, in North Vernon,it was at a business so assuming it ran, and another Black LWB at Muscatatuck. My question. I need to swap out my steering gearbox. I have an 87 2.5 4spd. What donor vehicle can I snag one from at the boneyard? What do I need to look for? Does eng matter(if its from a 4.0)? Thx.
  11. Are you going to contact manufacturer? Or are you pretty much S.O.L.? I guess it might be a tough road to get any compensation or for them to take any blame. Maybe if it was done at a shop or dealer,,,cough..cough...we do it ourselves!!!...you might have a legal case. Anyway thanks for the insight. I never have checked a 50/50 mix but I will now.
  12. Sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is always difficult. We must cherish those around us because we are all on "borrowed time." Agree with Dedaw that you should always leave others on a good note. May you and your family be comforted in your time of need.
  13. Would it be possible to have a map listing what states have the most Comanches as per this forum? Members could log into said State or Province. It would be interesting to see what state has the most listings...and who has the least. Maybe a map with a number representing each state. Just a thought! I'm pretty sure we must have members/vehicles here from all states as well as our neighboors up north!!
  14. Sounds like the Brady Bunch episode where Greg rebuilt the old mans car engine. "Look Dad, we did such a good job we've got parts left over!!"
  15. A little research here showed about 190,500 Jeep Comanches produced. What do you think would be a fair representative number of how many of these are still on the road/current project vehicles? 70,000?...50,000?...less???
  16. Was the "accident" Caused by an ex???? That windshield damage looks like it!!! :brows:
  17. Just wondering what rear bumpers can be utilized for fit on my 87. I saw a 88 Ram Pickup at the JY with a serviceable bumper. Just wondering what other types of bumpers from vehicles members have used other than Fab'd ones. If so can ya let me know how much refab was done to accept donor.THX!!
  18. So thats what it's called. I refer to mine as an air freshner holder...Hope it never pops out of gear when I'm parked!!
  19. Saw this in Chicago Craigslist...thought I'd pass it along. © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap 1989 Jeep Comanche I am looking for my old truck that I sold in the spring of 2011. The gentleman was from this area I believe. The truck i am talking about is a 1989 Jeep Comanche Eliminator. It is black, 4.0l, automatic, and was 2wd when I sold it. You said you were going to convert it to 4wd. I would really like to see what it looks like now, and possibly buy it back if you are interested. Please contact me if you see this ad at 517-489-9100, call or text. Thank you! my name is Ryan. Location: Sold from Michigan

  23. Alright here goes. Recently did my cluster swap 88XJ to my 87MJ. Good to go...for the most part. All gauges function except for the alternator....I only see two wires running into alternator, a yellow and brown. Have to disect more. I looked under dash and see a fog light loom disconnected(don't have em) and a courtesy light loom thats not hooked up. PO said he had no interior lights or a working chime when door was ajar. Does anyone have a pic or anything of this loom and what it makes too? The wires are to the side interior lights but I'm not sure where they plug into. There is also an unplugged cargo bed loom as well as 2 looms unplugged each with orange and black wires. Dash lights work, cig lighter light works. No dig clock light(works but dosent illum) and no interior lighting. Any help appreciated..Thx!! Side note..Went to JY yesterday. My take off an 88XJ Sport 4.0. Pair of side marker lights,Drivers side interior A-pillar molding,Window molding on top part of door(where glass rolls up) Passenger grab handle, cig lighter assembly panel, Digital clock assembly panel, lug nuts, rear tail light bulbs both sides, and a K&N air filter that the donor had under the hood.....grand total???.....$6.08!!!!!!! 25. Hello all. Just joined the club today.Very nice site. I recently purchased an 87 Comanche. It has a lot of play in the steering wheel when driving. I thought it might be the steering damper and changed it out today. Strike 1!!! It helped a little but problem remains. Any thoughts? Again enjoy the site and the wealth of knowledge out there. My jeep is just ther base model 2.5 but I've always loved this jeep truck. Some awesome pics out there too. Thx!
